Brown, a vegan performer from New Zealand, has been stepping into the role of Ridley Scott’s iconic monster for the latest installment in the Alien franchise. Without the elaborate headpiece and prosthetics, however, he’s catching attention for more than just his stunt work.

Beyond fueling fan fantasies, Brown is an experienced stunt performer who has been generous with behind-the-scenes peeks on Instagram. In an interview with Variety, he shared what it’s like to embody the galaxy’s most feared predator.
“We had separate legs, separate arms, a separate torso, separate neck and a separate head,” Brown explained. “Most of the time, I was waiting around, sitting for a shot that I was needed for. I could hang out in the torso, arms and legs, and have the neck and head off and be fairly comfortable.”
The modular design gave him a surprising amount of flexibility compared to bulkier monster suits seen in other productions
