Chris Salvatore is returning to the page, not the screen, with Island Boy, a new 170-page hardcover coffee table book that showcases his most vulnerable and visually striking work to date. Shot entirely on location in Kauai, Hawaii, the book is now available for pre-order via Salvatore’s website.

Best known for his work as an actor, singer, model, and LGBTQ+ content creator, Salvatore has continually pushed boundaries around queer identity and sensuality in media. But with Island Boy, he steps even further into personal territory, offering fans a rare look into his own journey of self-reflection, creativity, and emotional honesty.

“This being our fourth book, I really wanted to leave my heart, intimacy, and vulnerability all out on the coffee table, literally and figuratively speaking,” Salvatore admits. “Kauai has this incredible energy that invites you to let go, to be completely present and raw with the elements. That natural openness pushed me to explore deeper layers of emotion and sensuality through the lens.”

Savlatore went on to add, “There’s not much my fans haven’t already seen from my work on OnlyFans, but this project felt different,” he exclusively tells Gayety. “It felt more personal and artistic. Stepping into the role of the “Island Boy” allowed me to merge that physical vulnerability with a sense of emotional honesty. It’s not just about the body but also about freedom, connection, and letting the viewer see a more authentic side of me.”

The book was shot over five days on the island of Kauai by photographer and longtime collaborator Lester Villarama. The pair have created several photo books together, but Salvatore describes Island Boy as their most ambitious and intimate to date.

“We shot for five days all over the island and captured well over a thousand images. After each day, Lester and I would go through the shots and note our favorites” Chris stated. “We’ve been doing this together for quite a while now, so we’re pretty in sync with what we both love. There is always an audible gasp in unison when we come across a potential cover option which always makes us laugh.”

Known as “The Garden Island,” Kauai’s lush rainforests, secluded beaches, and striking coastal cliffs provided more than just a scenic backdrop. For Salvatore, the island itself became part of the story.

Island Boy features over 200 never-before-seen, uncensored images printed on premium 100 lb gloss paper, spread across 170 pages. Locations include Secret Beach, Lumahai River, and Ho’opi’i Falls – famously seen in Jurassic Park. The final selection was a meticulous collaboration between Salvatore and Villarama, narrowing down over a thousand shots captured across the shoot.

Though Salvatore has built a career balancing modeling and acting, this book, he says, is more about storytelling. “It’s not just about the body. It’s about identity, freedom, and being present in your own skin. That’s the story Island Boy tells.”

The project also allows fans of Salvatore’s OnlyFans work to see a new side of him, still sensual, but more grounded in reflection.
