The Kid Laroi is making it clear: if you’re not vibing with Ariana Grande’s music, he’s not sure he can vibe with you.
The Australian rapper-singer, born Charlton Kenneth Jeffrey Howard, joined YouTuber FaZe Adapt for a laid-back Twitch livestream on July 25, 2025, where the two spent the day hanging out and casually chatting. While cruising around in a car, talk turned to music, and more specifically, dream collaborations.
Without skipping a beat, Laroi named Ariana Grande as one of his ultimate “dream collabs,” gushing over her talent and throwing in a cheeky warning to any Grande skeptics.
“Dream Collab. Dream Dream Collab.”
When FaZe Adapt asked whether Laroi had worked with Grande yet, the 20-year-old hitmaker quickly responded:
“I would love to. That’s like one of my dream collabs for sure. Dream dream collab. 100%.”
Laroi didn’t stop there. He doubled down on his admiration for the pop star, praising both her artistry and her undeniable appeal.
“She is like one of them [top dream collabs] for sure. I think she is so awesome, and like, I kinda don’t trust people who don’t like her music,” he added. “I don’t trust their air.”
It’s a bold take, but not an unexpected one, especially for a performer whose own genre-hopping music often draws comparisons to Grande’s sleek pop versatility.
Supporting “Eternal Sunshine”
The Kid Laroi’s love for Ariana Grande isn’t new. Earlier this year, he gave a public nod to her latest album Eternal Sunshine: brighter days ahead, posting lyrics from the track “Past Life” on his Instagram story in March 2025. The moment didn’t go unnoticed by fans, with screenshots quickly making the rounds on fan pages.
Grande’s Eternal Sunshine album has resonated across pop and R&B circles alike, and it seems Laroi is firmly in the camp of supporters. Whether or not this mutual appreciation turns into a musical collaboration remains to be seen, but it’s safe to say the fans are ready.
A Hot Streak Continues
Outside of Ariana-related commentary, The Kid Laroi is staying busy with his own releases. His latest single, “Hot Girl Problems,” dropped this week via Columbia Records. The accompanying music video, directed by Nick Vernet, features Love Island USA season seven stars Iris Kendall and Hannah Fields and brings yacht-party glamor to the forefront.
The breezy summer track follows “How Does It Feel,” a soulful collaboration with bass wizard Thundercat. As Laroi continues to carve his path in pop and hip-hop, it’s clear he’s aiming high, both with his current output and his dream list of collaborators.
And with Ariana Grande at the top of that list? Don’t be surprised if “Past Life” lyrics become a prophetic preview of what’s to come.
