The Trevor Project Honors Dylan Mulvaney With the Third Annual Suicide Prevention Advocate of the Year Award

On Friday, The Trevor Project presented their 2023 Suicide Prevention Advocate of the Year award to the fabulous Dylan Mulvaney.

Dylan Mulvaney is an actress, singer, comedian, content creator, and strong transgender advocate. She rose to stardom for her popular series, “Days of Girlhood,” which documents her transition. Since launching last year, “Days of Girlhood” has broken boundaries on TikTok and has continued to spread joy and inspiration to the LGBTQ+ community.

However, Mulvaney’s advocacy goes far beyond sharing daily updates on social media. Last September, they were invited to speak with President Joe Biden about the current state of trans rights in the United States. “I try not to let the Internet’s words hurt me or my spirit, but do you know what does hurt?” she said. “Seeing people in power and authority figures creating laws and bills that are actively trying to harm us trans humans, especially trans children.”

She has consistently stood as a steadfast ally and dedicated contributor to The Trevor Project. In March, she orchestrated a remarkable fundraising effort during her Day 365 Live! extravaganza, amassing nearly $200,000. This extraordinary event, a one-night-only cabaret performance held at New York’s legendary Rainbow Room, served as the crowning achievement of her “Days of Girlhood” series. The live-streamed spectacle captivated millions of fans worldwide, and every dollar generated during this occasion was dedicated to advancing The Trevor Project’s critical mission to combat LGBTQ youth suicide.

Dylan Mulvaney Accepts Award

Mulvaney joins past award recipients Janelle Monáe and Lil Nas X, who use their platforms to challenge the status quo and create a safer, more inclusive world for LGBTQ young people to thrive as their authentic selves.

“I am deeply honored to accept The Trevor Project’s Suicide Prevention Advocate of the Year award,” said Dylan. “Trevor’s life-saving work holds a special place in my heart because it represents a lifeline for so many who are struggling with their identity and may not feel accepted as their authentic self. To anyone feeling lost or scared, I want you to know that you are so incredibly loved and there is light after the moments of darkness. Always remember that you are never alone, you are perfect just the way you are, and organizations like The Trevor Project are here to provide a safe space to talk whenever you need, 24/7.

“I am so proud to be a part of such a strong and beautiful community that fights tirelessly for a brighter, more inclusive future, and this award stands for all of us. Let’s continue to work together to uplift and empower LGBTQ young people and create a world where no young person ever feels that hope is out of reach.”

“In a world where LGBTQ young people too often face adversity and discrimination, Dylan Mulvaney stands as a source of light and hope, reminding us that there is strength in unity and power in vulnerability,” said Kevin Wong, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Communications, and Content. “Through her ongoing advocacy work and unapologetic celebration of their trans identity, Dylan is an exemplary possibility model for LGBTQ young people to envision a world for themselves where they can be happy, successful, and thrive openly and authentically.”

WATCH: Nathan Lane Sing About His ‘Gay Old Life’ and Finding Sewer Monsters

Dicks: The Musical is one you have to see to believe.

In a new lyric video from A24, Tony and Emmy-Award-winning actor Nathan Lane is seen hilariously singing about his “gay old life.” He also tells the story about how he adopted blood-thirsty sewer monsters after spotting them bathing in a swine.

What is Dicks: The Musical About?

Dicks: The Musical is based on the off-Broadway production F**cking Identical Twins by Aaron Jackson and Josh Sharp. The outrageous musical comedy follows two heterosexual businessmen, Craig (Sharp) and Trevor (Jackson), who only care about making money and sleeping with women. That is until they discover they are identical twins who were separated at birth to be raised in a single-parent household. Desiring a “real” family, the men switch places and attempt to bring their divorced parents (Nathan Lane and Megan Mullally) together.

The song “Gay Old Life” occurs right after Harris (Lane) comes out as gay to his son. “Queer as a three dollar bill and just as thin,” Lane says in the clip. He also sings about meeting his Sewer Boys, which are revealed to be two terrifying little creatures held in a cage behind a curtain.

“I’m sorry did you say Sewer Boys?” Yes. Yes we did.

The film is directed by Larry Charles (Seinfeld, Borat) and also stars Bowen Yang, Megan Thee Stallion and Nick Offerman.

“With its impressively crafted score and star-studded original songs – including the boastful Megan Thee Stallion track and a sing-along pronouncing God as gay – the soundtrack is the connector between the film’s absurdist humor and poignant messaging,” reads a press release.

Simply put: you will not hear a more queer, more riotous, more expertly-crafted album than this soundtrack in 2023.”

At the end of the track, Lane is also joined by Mullally for a chaotic duet. Watch the full song, “Gay Old Life,” below.

Dicks: The Musical will be released in select theaters on October 6 and nationwide on October 20.

Samuel then reaches into his bag, pulls out his engagement ring, and joins Javier on one knee. Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” plays over the video.

Both men are emotional, sharing a quick kiss and embracing as they take in this magical moment. They said yes! The camera then pans out to show the entire castle and the supportive theme park goers. It’s like a real-life fairytale come true!

Michael Gambon, Dumbledore Actor in the ‘Harry Potter’ Franchise, Dies at 82

The beloved actor died peacefully in his sleep after a “bout of pneumonia,” his representative said in a statement.

Sir Michael Gambon, well known for playing the mysterious and eccentric Hogwarts headmaster in the Harry Potter franchise, passed away on Wednesday. He was 82.

“We are devastated to announce the loss of Sir Michael Gambon”, his family said in a statement.

“Beloved husband and father, Michael died peacefully in hospital with his wife Anne and son Fergus at his bedside, following a bout of pneumonia. We ask that you respect our privacy at this painful time and thank you for your messages of support and love.”

The Legacy of Michael Gambon

The Irish actor’s career spanned six decades on screen and stage. Apart from the six Harry Potter films he acted in, Gambon was known for his roles in 1992’s Toys, 1999’s Sleepy Hollow, 2001’s Gosford Park and 2010’s The King’s Speech.

He garnered two Emmy Award nominations and clinched victory with four BAFTA Awards during his illustrious career. Michael Gambon’s exceptional contributions to British cinema were further celebrated in 2012 when he was bestowed with the Richard Harris Award by the British Independent Film Awards. This prestigious honor recognizes actors who have made a substantial impact on the world of British cinema throughout their careers. Additionally, in 1998, he received a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the arts.

Bringing Dumbledore to Life

Gambon stepped in as Albus Dumbledore in the third fantasy film, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, following the death of Richard Harris.

“They rang me up and said, ‘Will you do it?’ Like any other job I said, ‘Sure.’ Then you find yourself in the middle of this thing,” he said in an interview with the Associated Press. “I’ve played quite a lot of crooks and killers, and that’s quite interesting. Then Dumbledore is the complete opposite, isn’t he? He’s a nice old man.”

“This will stick out as being a happy memory, being with a thing for so long and the worldwide love of it. You never forget that.”

In 2007, writer J.K. Rowling revealed that the character Dumbledore is gay. It was during a post-publication event for the final book in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. While speaking to fans at Carnegie Hall, she said that she always thought of Dumbledore as gay.

Then in 2022, the prequel film, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, confirmed the character’s sexuality on the big screen. Jude Law then portrays Dumbledore.

In addition to his wife, Lady Gambon, and son Fergus, Gambon is survived by his two children, Michael and William, and his partner, Philippa Hart.

Watch the New Spooky Trailer for Kristen Stewart’s Gay Ghost-Hunting Series

Kristen Stewart is hosting a gay-ance! By that, we mean her upcoming ghost-hunting series has released a new trailer, which looks equally spooky and gay.

The trailer for Living for the Dead introduces the five gay “Ghost Hunties” who will be leading us on this paranormal adventure. There’s Ken the tarot card reader, Alex the tech expert, Logan the psychic, Roz the paranormal researcher, and Ju Ju the witch.

“I get to come out twice. For being gay and for talking to dead people,” Alex says in the trailer. Yup, that about sums it up.

Throughout the two-minute teaser, the spooky Fab-Five are confronted by spirits as they attempt to “help the living by healing the dead.” They will explore “infamous haunted locations while pushing past boundaries with both the living and the deceased.” This season, the Hunties will travel to Arizona, Nevada and Kentucky.

Kristen Stewart Said Gay Spooky Rights

Of course, the trailer also includes an appearance from our sapphic queen Kristen Stewart, who is an executive producer and narrator on the project.

“It’s so cool and enlivening that me and my best friend CJ Romero had this funny idea and now it’s a show,” Stewart told People Magazine.

“It started as a bit of a hypothetical silly pipe dream and now I am so proud to have shepherded something that is as moving and meaningful as it is truly a gay old time.”

“This is just the beginning for us and for Living for the Dead. We wanna one day have traipsed across the entire spooky-a*s country. Maybe the world.”

A fabulously queer ghost-hunting series from the mind of Kristen Stewart? Count us in.

A Huluween Original, Living for the Dead is from the creators of Queer Eye. It premieres on Hulu on October 18.

Watch: Lukas Gage Give Zachary Quinto a Happy Ending in Hilarious ‘Down Low’ Trailer

“Accidents happen. It was your first time being gay did you really think you weren’t gonna make any mistakes?”

The trailer for Zachary Quinto and Lukas Gage’s hilarious R-rated comedy Down Low promises some extremely gay chaos. So far, audiences can expect at least one naked Quinto, one happy ending, and one dead Grindr hookup.

Down Low is a “chock full of tastelessness”

The official synopsis reads: “A deeply repressed man, the uninhibited young man that gives him a happy ending, and all the lives they ruin along the way.” Quinto plays Gary, a divorcee attempting to take back his life and live out the queer dreams he has repressed for 50 years. That’s where he meets Cameron (Gage), a sex-working twink who gives Gary an unforgettable massage and then decides to help him take charge of his life.

With Cameron’s help, Gary joins a dating app and quickly schedules a hookup with a handsome stranger (Sebastian Arroyo). However, things go downhill quickly, and soon, the men are hiring a so-called expert to hide a dead body because the hookup guy is (you guessed it) dead and bleeding all over the Mountain Ashwood flooring.

There is some light at the end of the tunnel, as Gary tells Cameron he is glad he met him “even if multiple people are dead because of it.” Later in the trailer, he even refers to himself as a “cool, hot zaddy.” We love to see him coming out of his shell!

Watch the full Red Band trailer for Down Low here.

Gay Sex Apps and Dead Bodies

Down Low was co-written by The White Lotus Star and Phoebe Fisher. It also stars Judith Light, Simon Rex, Christopher Reed Brown, and Audra McDonald.

Gage described the comedy as an unhinged take on Pretty Woman. “Originally, we really wanted a fast-paced, f**ked-up rom-com. But it was always about two very different people that are in this larger-than-life, crazy circumstance and what they learn from one another within this 24-hour period,” Gage told Vulture. “There’s a little bit more heart in this version. It was needing a little bit more of a soul and a little bit more redeemability from the characters.”

Down Low will be available to stream on October 10.

Boygenius Announce New EP ‘the rest’ to be Released on Friday the 13th

It’s a happy spooky season after all!

It’s a good day to be a Boygenius fan. Unless you were not at their Boston show and did not get to see the surprise performance from Hozier. But still, it’s a good day. The indie rock trio – composed of Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus – announced new music on Tuesday, and fans are going wild.

And rightfully so. The band’s first studio album, the record, dropped in March and was well-received by fans and critics alike. This is why the promise of new music on the spookiest day of the year is almost too much for us to handle. The band casually announced the EP, titled the rest, on Instagram and broke it live to fans at their Boston concert Monday night.

The fans in attendance may never recover, considering they also heard a new Boygenius song live and saw Hozier come out to perform “Salt in the Wound.”

The first song on the EP is titled “Black Hole” and was performed by Boygenius at their last concert. The band teased the titles of the last three songs, but we may not know for sure until October.

Who is Boygenius

Boygenius is an indie rock supergroup that comprises three incredibly talented singer-songwriters: Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, and Julien Baker. Each member of this dynamic trio had already established a strong presence in the indie music scene with their solo careers before coming together to form Boygenius. Their collaborative project resulted in a self-titled EP released in 2018, which was met with critical acclaim. Boygenius is known for its hauntingly beautiful harmonies, introspective lyrics, and a raw emotional depth that resonates with listeners. Their music reflects a unique blend of indie, folk, and rock elements, and their combined talents have made them a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.

Not only has the group mesmerized audiences with their music, they have also used their platform to champion LGBTQ+ advocacy. Through their lyrics and public statements, they have openly addressed issues of sexuality, identity, and acceptance, resonating deeply with LGBTQ+ fans.

“The government being actually actively trying to kill the coolest people is something I think about every day,” Bridgers said in an interview with Them. “It’s so overwhelming how different the world would be if the AIDS epidemic had never happened. It’s so overwhelming to me, to my exact world, everything that I value.”

Boygenius’ EP the rest will be available to purchase and stream on Friday, October 13. You can pre-order it here.

Reneé Rapp Reading Thirst Tweets Has Us Blushing and Kicking Our Feet

Our love for this woman is truly unmatched.

The Sex Lives of College Girls and Broadway star Reneé Rapp stopped by BuzzFeed to do some light reading before she kicks off her Snow Hard Feelings Tour later this week. Of course, the reading in question was all of the filthy, raunchy tweets her fans send her on X (the app formerly known as Twitter).

Right from the start, Rapp was not phased by any of the thirsty thoughts. She found each one to be a sincere compliment and could not stop smiling and giggling.

And if you are someone who feels you could make Rapp fall in love with you if given the chance, the singer says, “go for it!”

“I think that’s confidence, I think that’s believing in yourself. I think that’s having drive and being a hard working woman.”

At one point, a fan asked Rapp to “stop being so funny and flirty.” She replied: “No.”

“I can’t! I love to flirt, she continued. “It’s fun. It’s what keeps the world spinning. Everybody needs a little excitement.”

Even the extreme tweets, like ones that read “I am just a hole for Reneé Rapp” or “Reneé Rapp rail me,” were met with complete understanding. “There are women I would let ruin my life,” she explained.

Rapp also spoke about her feelings towards people barking, her need to constantly seek “other gay people’s approval,” and her love for people saying what’s on their minds. Oh, and gay rights. Of course.

Overall, the video feels like Rapp is flirting with us through the screen the whole time. Prepare to be flustered! Watch the full video here.

What’s Next for Rapp

Reneé Rapp recently released her debut studio album, Snow Angel. She will tour the album starting this fall in Phoenix, Arizona, and ending in Ireland in March. She will also reprise her role as Regina George in a movie adaptation of Mean Girls: The Musical, which will hit theaters in January 2024.

New Couple Alert! Rami Malek and Emma Corrin Confirm Relationship

Rami Malek and Emma Corrin appear to confirm their relationship with a kiss in a London park.

Has the Bohemian Rhapsody star found somebody to love? It appears so! Rami Malek and Emma Corrin have been linked multiple times over the last few months. They were first spotted together at a Bruce Springsteen concert in July and have been seen on several outings since. Earlier this month, they were spotted attending the US Open together.

In a new series of photos captured this week, Malek and the My Policeman star were seen looking adorably domestic in a park in London.

However, at this time, neither star has publicly said anything about their relationship. Earlier this year, Malek was known to be dating his former Bohemian Rhapsody costar, Lucy Boynton. The two first met in 2018 on the film set, where Boynton played Freddie’s former partner, Mary Austin.

Emma Corrin Talks Sexuality and Fluidity

The 27-year-old actor publicly embraced their queerness and nonbinary identity in 2021 by calling themselves queer in a post and updating their Instagram pronouns.

In a previous interview with Vogue, Corrin talked about their fluidity. “In my mind, gender just isn’t something that feels fixed,” they said, “and I don’t know if it ever will be; there might always be some fluidity there for me.”

Their next project will see them playing the lead baddie in Deadpool 3. Malek is scheduled to star in the James Hawes thriller, The Amateur.

We love love!
