Chappell Roan Teases New Country Song ‘The Giver’ Through Interactive Instagram Stunt

0

Pop artist Chappell Roan is once again teasing fans with her upcoming single, “The Giver,” a country-tinged track that has generated significant buzz since her debut of it on Saturday Night Live (SNL) last November. Over the weekend, Roan raised the stakes with an interactive stunt that made her followers work a bit harder to get a taste of the highly anticipated song.

This time, Roan took to her Instagram Story to share a dial-up number, (629) 468-8646, also known as “Hot To Go.” The number, when dialed, led listeners through a quirky voice menu offering a range of services, from a dentist and attorney to plumbing and construction help. But for those persistent enough to follow the prompts, they were treated to a trio of lo-fi snippets from “The Giver.”

In the short clips, Roan confidently sings lyrics about her ability to “get the job done” and satisfy a female partner better than any man ever could. In a spoken word portion of the song that Roan first revealed during her SNL performance, she boldly declares, “All you country boys think you know how to treat a woman right. Well, only a woman knows how to treat a woman right. She gets the job done.” The playful and empowering sentiment of the song has captured the attention of fans and critics alike, furthering the anticipation for its official release.

Though the full version of “The Giver” has yet to be released, the song marks Roan’s first new music since the critically acclaimed debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess in 2023. The album, which earned her a Grammy award, helped catapult the Missouri native into the spotlight, drawing attention to her unique blend of pop and folk influences.

A New Country Sound for Chappell Roan

Roan’s shift towards country-inspired music has intrigued fans and industry insiders alike. In a September 2023 interview with The New York Times, Roan’s producer, Dan Nigro, teased the new song’s country flair, describing it as a “fun, uptempo country song” with a prominent fiddle element. He explained that “The Giver” would introduce a new dimension of Roan’s sound and would offer a glimpse into her evolving musical direction.

“The Giver” is part of what promises to be an exciting new chapter for Roan. In that same interview, Nigro revealed that the singer was already working on her second album, describing it as featuring a blend of different musical styles, including “a couple of ballads” and a “mid-tempo rock song.” While details about the album remain under wraps, the producer hinted that Roan’s sophomore effort would showcase a “new version” of the artist, one that continues to push boundaries and explore new genres.

The country-tinged “The Giver” reflects Roan’s ability to adapt her distinctive voice and songwriting style to a variety of musical landscapes, demonstrating her versatility as an artist. Fans have eagerly awaited more music from the artist, and with the success of her debut album, there is growing excitement surrounding her forthcoming projects.

Supporting Artists’ Health Care Needs

In addition to teasing her new music, Roan has been using her platform to advocate for an important cause: health care for emerging artists. Following her Best New Artist win at the 2025 Grammy Awards, Roan took the opportunity to raise awareness about the difficulties faced by up-and-coming musicians in securing health care coverage.

The campaign, called We Got You, has attracted support from major figures in the music industry. Artists such as Sabrina Carpenter, Charli XCX, and Noah Kahan have contributed to the initiative, along with influential organizations like Live Nation, AEG Global Touring, Wasserman Foundation, and the Hinterland Music Festival. Roan’s efforts to improve the healthcare access of new artists have drawn widespread praise, positioning her as not just a rising musical talent but also a powerful advocate for systemic change within the industry.

Roan’s continued activism and creative work signal that her influence extends far beyond the stage. Whether through her advocacy or her evolving musical projects, the singer is establishing herself as a leading voice in both the pop and country music worlds.

Looking Ahead: What’s Next for Chappell Roan?

As fans eagerly await the official release of “The Giver,” Roan’s blend of pop, country, and folk elements offers a glimpse into her evolving artistic journey. The upcoming second album, with its blend of different musical styles, promises to offer even more exciting surprises.

For now, Roan’s fans can look forward to more teaser moments and innovative stunts that continue to build excitement around her music. With her bold, empowering lyrics and growing influence, Roan is poised to make an even bigger impact in the music industry in the coming year. Keep an eye on her social media and stay tuned for the release of “The Giver” and her upcoming projects, as Chappell Roan cements herself as one of the most exciting and boundary-pushing artists of her generation.

Pete Buttigieg Criticizes Trump Administration for FAA Firings Amid Plane Crashes: ‘The Flying Public Needs Answers”

0

Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is calling out the Trump administration for its decision to fire hundreds of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) employees while a series of troubling plane crashes continue to raise concerns about air safety.

The latest incident occurred yesterday when a Delta Air Lines flight, originating from Minneapolis, crashed upside down in Toronto, catching fire. Although all 80 passengers survived, 18 were injured in the crash. This follows a military aircraft crash near San Diego last week, where two pilots managed to eject before the plane plunged into the bay.

The Delta crash is the most recent in a string of aviation incidents that have sparked serious safety concerns. On January 29, a tragic collision between a military helicopter and American Eagle Flight 5342 near Reagan National Airport killed 67 people. Since then, at least three more crashes have occurred, including a small plane accident in Arizona that killed at least one person, a commuter flight in Alaska that claimed 10 lives, and an incident at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport where one plane sliced through another while taxiing.

Amid these incidents, the Trump administration’s decision to lay off hundreds of FAA workers has intensified public scrutiny. The FAA, which is responsible for overseeing air safety, reportedly began firing employees late last week. According to David Spero, president of the Professional Aviation Safety Specialists union, the employees who received termination notices were involved in critical FAA services, including radar, landing, and navigational aid maintenance. Spero also emphasized that the firings were not linked to performance or conduct issues, further raising questions about the rationale behind the decision.

Buttigieg, who served as Transportation Secretary under President Joe Biden, has been outspoken in his criticism of the move. In a post on Bluesky, he demanded more transparency about the firings. “The flying public needs answers,” Buttigieg wrote. “How many FAA personnel were just fired? What positions? And why?”

Rep. Don Beyer (D-VA) also voiced strong concern, calling the firings “dangerous at any time,” particularly in the wake of the recent crashes. “Mass firings of FAA workers—at a time when they already have serious staffing problems—would be dangerous at any time,” Beyer said. “Musk and Trump doing this weeks after the deadliest crash in years is stupid beyond belief.”

A Growing Staffing Crisis at the FAA

The decision to lay off FAA employees comes at a time when the agency is already grappling with staffing shortages. According to Professor Don Moynihan, an expert in public policy, the firings are especially alarming given the recent accidents that have highlighted the agency’s understaffed and overburdened workforce. “Even after a bunch of accidents that highlighted FAA staffing shortages, they still went ahead and fired FAA staff,” Moynihan said. “They don’t know what they are doing.”

The National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) echoed these concerns, with the union stating it was still analyzing the potential impact of the firings on air safety. Some of the terminated FAA workers had been involved in the development of a radar system designed to provide early warning of incoming missile threats for Hawaii, a program funded by the U.S. Department of Defense. One employee who worked on the project expressed grave concern, stating, “This is about protecting national security, and I’m scared to death. And the American public should be scared too.”

Challenges in Air Traffic Control

The firings come as the FAA continues to struggle with recruitment challenges, particularly in the critical area of air traffic control. The agency has long faced difficulties in attracting and retaining air traffic controllers, and the staffing shortages have placed additional stress on the remaining workers, who are frequently required to work long shifts.

At the same time, aviation safety experts have warned that the cumulative effect of understaffing, combined with the recent firings, could jeopardize public safety. The lack of available personnel for critical maintenance and safety functions could have serious consequences as air traffic continues to increase.

Trump Administration’s Focus on DEI and Diversity Initiatives

While the aviation community grapples with these staffing and safety challenges, the Trump administration has been pushing back against diversity initiatives within the FAA. Former reality TV star and Fox personality Sean Duffy, who replaced Buttigieg as Transportation Secretary, downplayed the significance of the firings, claiming that no air traffic controllers or “critical safety personnel” had been let go. However, Buttigieg has called for greater transparency to understand the full scope of the layoffs.

In a broader move, the Trump administration has increasingly focused on blaming diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts for the recent aviation incidents. When asked about the American Eagle flight crash, Trump controversially attributed the accident to DEI initiatives, stating, “I have common sense, and unfortunately, a lot of people don’t.”

The tension between the Trump administration’s approach and the concerns raised by aviation safety advocates continues to grow, with many questioning whether the focus on DEI initiatives and staffing cuts is undermining efforts to address urgent safety issues in the aviation industry.

As the investigation into the recent plane crashes continues, the call for greater transparency and accountability grows louder. Buttigieg and other critics of the administration are demanding answers on the impact of these firings and what steps will be taken to ensure the safety of air travel in the months ahead.

For now, the flying public remains on edge, with safety concerns continuing to mount in the wake of these devastating crashes.

Survival, Secrets & Sapphics: ‘Yellowjackets’ Season 3 Delivers Its Gayest, Wildest Ride Yet

The wilderness is calling once again, and the Yellowjackets are answering—whether they want to or not. Season 3 of the hit Showtime-turned-Paramount+ series premieres today, and fans are in for another thrilling, gruesome, and emotional ride.

What’s Yellowjackets About?

Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, Yellowjackets follows a high school girls’ soccer team whose plane crashes deep in the remote northern wilderness. The show moves between the past—where the survivors battle the elements, each other, and their darkest instincts—and the present, where they struggle to keep their secrets buried while facing the consequences of their time in the wild.

What’s Happening in Season 3?

After enduring a brutal winter, the Yellowjackets find themselves in a fragile moment of survival. Tension within the group is at an all-time high, and with leadership disputes threatening their unity, being rescued may be the least of their problems. Meanwhile, in the present day, secrets continue to unravel, exposing deeper, darker truths about who they’ve become.

Season 3 welcomes returning favorites like Melanie Lynskey (Shauna), Christina Ricci (Misty), Tawny Cypress (Taissa), and Lauren Ambrose (Van), while newcomers like two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank join the all-star cast.

“It’s Very Gay This Season”

One of the standout aspects of Yellowjackets has always been its strong female-led cast and queer representation, both on and off-screen. Sammi Hanratty, who plays teen Misty, reflected on how the show helped her embrace her identity:

“I came out myself during season one as bisexual, and this show created a space where I felt comfortable to do that,” Hanratty shared. “I think that this show is a great representation of just accepting yourself where you’re at.”

And for fans wondering if this season will continue pushing LGBTQ+ representation forward? “Yes, yes. It’s very gay this season,” Hanratty confirmed.

Owning the Queer, Female-Led Narrative

Jasmin Savoy Brown, who plays teen Taissa, takes immense pride in the show’s representation.

“I am so honored to be a part of such a queer and female show,” Brown said. “Not just that it’s a show about so many women and girls, but that these women and girls are allowed to be messy and strong and f***ed up and manipulative and evil—cannibalistic. Usually, even when we get to focus on girls, they’re kind of undone. They’re pretty but messy. But here, they’re gross and horrible, and we deserve to see that.”

Love, Trauma, and a Few Laughs Along the Way

The deep emotional weight of the series is balanced with the cast’s incredible chemistry off-screen. Liv Hewson, who plays teen Van, emphasized how tight-knit the team has become.

“We’ve grown together a lot over the years that we’ve been making this show, and that’s very special,” Hewson said.

Tawny Cypress, who plays adult Taissa, also highlighted the importance of showcasing queer relationships, particularly older queer couples. “I wish I had representation like this growing up,” she said. “I wish I saw characters that looked like me.”

Bringing the Darkness to Life

With such heavy material, the Yellowjackets cast has had to develop ways to stay grounded. Kevin Alves, who plays Travis, explained his process:

“For me, I’ve got to walk away until action. Pretty much, I’m by myself for a lot of that. I’m walking, I’m pacing because it’s so heavy in the material that we do, and we have to do our best to do it justice.”

His co-star Alexa Barajas agreed, adding that music plays a big role in setting the tone. “Wearing the big headphones that zone everybody out and just listening to songs that kind of put you in the mood really allows you to drop into it.”

Expect the Unexpected

As with every Yellowjackets season, there are bound to be shocking moments that leave audiences gasping. Courtney Eaton, who plays teen Lottie, teased an upcoming wild scene: “There’s one this season that I just go like, ‘What were we doing?’”

Alves echoed the sentiment: “We were filming it in the middle of the night, and everyone just goes a little kooky. Yeah, it’s coming.”

Welcome Back to the Hive

With its signature mix of psychological horror, drama, and dark humor, Yellowjackets is returning in full force. As always, expect shocking twists, more incredible performances, and a healthy dose of queer chaos.

The first two episodes of Season 3 of Yellowjackets is streaming now on Paramount+. New episodes will drop every Friday on Paramount+ and SHOWTIME. Buckle up—it’s going to be a wild ride.

Here’s Your First Look at Nicholas Galitzine Bulked-Up as He-Man for ‘Masters of The Universe’

0

Fans of the Masters of the Universe franchise have finally gotten their first look at Nicholas Galitzine in the iconic role of Prince Adam, aka He-Man, in the upcoming live-action film. The early reactions to the images have been decidedly mixed, with some excited to see the actor in the role, while others express skepticism.

Announced in May 2024, Galitzine, known for his role in Red, White & Royal Blue, will be stepping into the shoes of He-Man, a superhero with a storied history in both animation and toys. Masters of the Universe, which originated as a toy line in the 1980s, expanded into a successful animated series and a movie in 1987. The original Masters of the Universe film, starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man, became a cult classic for its campy style and over-the-top action. While beloved, the franchise has not seen many live-action projects since, making this new film highly anticipated by long-time fans.

While many details about the upcoming film remain under wraps, it has been revealed that the movie will center on a young man on Earth who discovers his hidden legacy as the prince of an alien planet. The story involves his quest to recover a magical sword and return home to protect his kingdom. Aside from Galitzine as He-Man, the star-studded cast will include Camila Mendes, James Purefoy, Alison Brie, Idris Elba, Morena Baccarin, Charlotte Riley, and Jared Leto, who will portray the villain Skeletor. The film is being directed by Travis Knight, known for Bumblebee, with a screenplay by Chris Butler, who previously wrote ParaNorman.

Last year, fans were given an early glimpse of Galitzine’s transformation into the powerful and heroic He-Man, with set photos circulating online. Now, more images have emerged, sparking further discussion and mixed reactions from fans.

Some fans have taken to social media to express excitement over Galitzine’s casting, with many pointing out his striking appearance. One fan posted, “He’s gonna be the prettiest He-Man… and I’m sat.” These comments highlight Galitzine’s notable looks, which may differ from the traditionally muscular and rugged depiction of the character, but still resonate with fans who are drawn to his charm and appeal.

On the other hand, some are expressing concern that the casting choice may not align with their vision of He-Man. “Not a gay character!!!!! Noooo we are losing him,” lamented one fan, referencing Galitzine’s prior roles in LGBTQ+ themed projects. This sentiment underscores the ongoing challenge faced by fans who are passionate about the legacy of the Masters of the Universe franchise and the character of He-Man. Some worry that Galitzine’s casting may overshadow the traditional portrayal of the character or shift the dynamic of the film in a direction they don’t fully support.

As the Masters of the Universe franchise is reimagined for a new generation, many fans are eager to see how it will blend the franchise’s rich history with modern storytelling. The film’s premise, combining fantasy, action, and a young hero’s journey, has the potential to introduce a new audience to the classic series while keeping longtime fans engaged.

The casting of Galitzine in particular has sparked debate about the direction of the film and how it will be received by different audiences. Galitzine’s past performances, especially in LGBTQ+ roles, have garnered praise and solidified him as an actor with a broad appeal. However, some fans fear that his involvement in Masters of the Universe may change the tone or character of He-Man, who has traditionally been portrayed as a muscular, larger-than-life action figure.

Whether or not this new iteration of He-Man will capture the spirit of the original character remains to be seen. Galitzine’s portrayal will undoubtedly be a central point of discussion, as fans of the franchise weigh in on whether or not the character’s evolution aligns with their expectations.

Stonewall Monument’s Web Page Erases Transgender References Amid Controversy

0

The Stonewall National Monument’s official website has removed references to transgender and queer individuals, sparking criticism and backlash from LGBTQ+ advocates. This change comes amid ongoing debates and policies related to gender identity under the Trump administration, which has sought to reinforce the idea that only male and female are valid biological sexes.

Previously, the National Park Service page describing the Stonewall Monument referred to “LGBTQ+,” a term that includes transgender and nonbinary individuals. However, the updated version of the site now only mentions “LGB,” excluding transgender and queer people. An archived version of the page, available for reference, confirmed the initial broader inclusivity.

Stacy Lentz, co-owner of the historic Stonewall Inn and CEO of the nonprofit Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative, condemned the change, accusing the administration of attempting to “erase trans people from history and from existing.” Lentz, an outspoken advocate for transgender rights, is organizing a protest scheduled for noon on Friday in response to the controversial edits.

“There is no Pride without Trans folks leading that fight! Trying to erase them from the Birthplace of the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement will not happen!” Lentz wrote on Instagram, announcing the protest. “We need to show up and speak out for our trans and nonbinary siblings who are under attack.”

The Stonewall Inn, which played a pivotal role in the LGBTQ+ rights movement, was the site of the 1969 Stonewall Riots—an event that is widely regarded as the spark for the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, two transgender women of color, were instrumental in leading the protests that night, challenging systemic oppression and discrimination. Their roles in the movement have long been celebrated as central to the fight for LGBTQ+ rights.

The removal of transgender-inclusive language from the Stonewall Monument’s web page has been met with outrage from activists and organizations who argue that it distorts the historical reality of the LGBTQ+ struggle. In a joint statement, the Stonewall Inn and the Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative expressed their anger at the decision, calling it an “act of erasure.”

“This blatant act of erasure not only distorts the truth of our history, but it also dishonors the immense contributions of transgender individuals—especially transgender women of color—who were at the forefront of the Stonewall Riots and the broader fight for LGBTQ+ rights,” the statement said.

The statement emphasized the critical role of transgender and gender-nonconforming individuals, such as Johnson and Rivera, in the resistance that eventually led to the establishment of the rights that LGBTQ+ individuals enjoy today. The removal of the word “transgender” from the National Park Service’s website is viewed by many as a direct attack on the transgender community and their place in the movement’s history.

“Let us be clear: Stonewall is transgender history,” the statement continued. “Marsha P. Johnson, Sylvia Rivera, and countless other trans and gender-nonconforming individuals fought bravely, and often at great personal risk, to push against oppressive systems. Their courage, sacrifice, and leadership were central to the resistance we now celebrate as the foundation of the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement.”

The Stonewall Inn and the Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative are calling for the immediate reinstatement of the word “transgender” on the Stonewall National Monument’s website, urging officials to honor the full history of the LGBTQ+ movement. Advocates are demanding recognition of the significant contributions of transgender individuals, particularly transgender women of color, who were instrumental in sparking and sustaining the fight for LGBTQ+ equality.

This move by the National Park Service is only the latest in a series of controversial actions under the Trump administration, which has faced criticism for its stance on transgender issues, including efforts to roll back protections for transgender individuals in healthcare and education. The removal of transgender-inclusive language from a key LGBTQ+ landmark only adds fuel to the ongoing debate about the rights and recognition of transgender people in the United States.

As the protest at the Stonewall Inn approaches, LGBTQ+ advocates remain steadfast in their commitment to ensuring the history of transgender people is not erased from the national narrative. “We will not let this erasure happen,” said Lentz. “We will continue to fight for our trans siblings and their rightful place in history.”

The controversy surrounding the change on the Stonewall National Monument’s web page is a reminder of the ongoing struggles faced by transgender individuals in the fight for equality and recognition. As the protest unfolds, it is clear that the LGBTQ+ community remains committed to preserving the legacy of those who paved the way for future generations.

Meet Giuseppe Futia: The Queer Italian Star Bringing Charm to Netflix’s ‘La Dolce Villa’

Netflix introduces a fresh face to the world of romantic comedies with La Dolce Villa, directed by Mark Waters (Mean Girls, Freaky Friday). At the heart of this swoon-worthy film is Giuseppe Futia, a queer Italian actor who brings effortless charm and charisma to the screen.

From Shy Performer to Rising Star

Futia, an Italian-born, New York-based actor, has been captivated by storytelling since childhood. His journey began at just eight years old when he starred as Pinocchio in a school play. “I was a very, very shy kid, but I enjoyed watching performing arts,” Futia said. “I thought, ‘Maybe I could do it too.’”

His career has since flourished, landing roles that showcase his range. One standout project was an Italian soccer film, despite his lack of experience in the sport. “I got bullied a lot because I didn’t know how to play soccer in my younger years. And now I was playing a goalie who was an expert at it. This is why I love this craft,” he said.

Bringing Romance to La Dolce Villa

La Dolce Villa follows businessman Eric (Scott Foley) as he travels to Italy to stop his daughter Olivia (Maia Reficco) from restoring a crumbling villa. But Italy has other plans, especially when Olivia crosses paths with Giovanni, a charismatic chef played by Futia.

Giovanni is a character filled with passion, particularly for cooking. Futia connected deeply with this role, comparing Giovanni’s dedication to food to his own devotion to acting. “I love when a person is obsessed with something they love. Giovanni has that with cooking, and I have that with acting,” he shared.

The romance in the film is just as rich as its setting. When asked about his own advice for charming a crush, Futia joked, “Eye contact is key. Just enough to make them wonder what you’re thinking. Maybe don’t look at them too long, but long enough to make them slightly embarrassed.”

Filming an Italian Fairytale

For Futia, working with director Mark Waters was a dream come true. “I couldn’t believe he cast me. He’s so iconic,” he said. “What I loved about his directing style is that he’s very fatherly, making sure everyone feels comfortable. He always made sure to crack a joke on set.”

Filming in Italy added another layer of magic to the experience. Between takes, Futia and the cast took cooking classes from top chefs, immersing themselves in Italian culture. “I looked in the mirror and thought, ‘Dude, you’re lucky. You’re back in your country, filming this amazing project, and getting free cooking classes,’” he said. His favorite dish? “Pici, this sort of Tuscan pasta, which is like a thicker spaghetti. So tasty, so simple, but great.”

The Importance of Queer Representation

Futia, who is openly queer, understands the impact of representation. “For so long, institutions told people that being queer was wrong. Artists can change that narrative,” he said. “We need to unlearn what we’ve been taught for centuries, which is that being gay is wrong.

“It’s just a cultural shift. And if people look at the history… it’s just a couple of institutions that decided that they wanted to tell people that it’s not okay to be that. So we need another institution. And artists can be that. They can be a sort of institution letting people know that it’s okay to be queer. So that’s the only main reason why I think it’s important to be vocal about it.”

While he values his privacy, he embraces his role as a visible queer actor, helping audiences see themselves reflected in mainstream media.

What’s Next for Giuseppe Futia?

Futia has ambitious goals beyond rom-coms. He dreams of working with Martin Scorsese and starring in a Tarantino-style action film. “I love psychological thrillers and complex characters. I want roles that challenge me,” he said. “I love action movies with a lot of gore. I know it’s different from La Dolce Villa, but that’s also me.”

For now, Futia is captivating audiences in La Dolce Villa, bringing romance, charm, and authenticity to Netflix’s newest feel-good film. Keep an eye on this rising star—his journey is just beginning.

Lisa Rinna Wants Selena Gomez, Chloë Sevigny and Jenna Ortega to Star as Her in a Biopic

0

Lisa Rinna, television personality, actress, and entrepreneur, recently sat down for a playful and revealing conversation with Katya Zamolodchikova, a popular drag queen and RuPaul’s Drag Race alum for Grindr’s Am I The A**hole podcast. The two discussed a wide range of topics, from Rinna’s ideal cast for a biopic about her life, to relationship dynamics, and advice for those navigating the world of online dating.

Casting Her Biopic: Rinna’s Dream Picks

The iconic drag queen asked Rinna who she would choose to play her in a biopic, suggesting three different actresses for various stages of her life—young, middle-aged, and older. Lisa Rinna was quick to offer her picks, starting with Selena Gomez for a younger version of herself, a choice Katya enthusiastically endorsed. “Oh, hell yeah,” Katya responded with a smile.

Rinna then considered Chloë Sevigny for her middle-aged years, admitting that Sevigny’s distinct style would suit the role perfectly. Katya agreed, saying “Sevigny” in approval. For an even younger version, Rinna opted for Jenna Ortega, best known for her portrayal of Wednesday Addams. “Yeah, I think she’d be great,” Rinna said with a nod.

Katya then offered her own picks for a potential biopic. She suggested Amanda Seyfried as a middle-aged version, noting that while Seyfried is typically seen as a blonde, she would make an interesting choice for the role. Rinna seemed intrigued by the idea, saying, “I like it.” Katya also threw in Chloë Grace Moretz, and for the older version, she chose none other than Angelina Jolie.

Rinna was impressed by Katya’s choices, replying, “Well, that’s lovely. I wouldn’t even touch that,” before adding an amusing twist to the scenario. Katya suggested that the movie could include a scene where both Rinna and Jolie, playing versions of Rinna, engage in a dramatic fight with chainsaws. “Bejeweled naked. I agree,” Rinna quipped, embracing the fun and chaos of the idea. Katya elaborated, suggesting that both heads would be chopped off at the end in a dramatic flourish. “That’s so cunt. That’s cunt,” Rinna laughed.

Relationship Realities: Advice for Dating and Marriage

The two also delved into more serious territory when Katya asked Rinna about her thoughts on relationships and marriage, particularly regarding men on dating apps like Grindr. Rinna began by questioning whether people on Grindr were actually seeking marriage or simply casual encounters. “I don’t know how you look for marriage material,” she admitted, suggesting that the traditional playbook for finding a life partner may not exist.

Katya agreed, saying it’s tough to gauge whether someone is “the one” right away. Rinna echoed this sentiment, pointing out that many people rush into marriage without truly knowing one another. “I think a lot of people rush into it,” Rinna said, adding that it often takes a lot of time to truly understand your partner.

“How many dates do you think it takes to tell if someone is the one?” Katya asked. Rinna responded that she thinks it takes at least two years to truly understand someone. “You have to live with somebody,” she continued, explaining that it’s crucial to see a person’s habits and how they adapt to different situations. “When things are nice, they’re nice. But what happens when things are really bad? You want to see how they react.”

Katya agreed, quipping that living in separate houses on separate streets might be the secret to maintaining a healthy relationship. Rinna laughed, noting the difficulty of keeping a long-term relationship intact. “I think what we’ve done and been together for 32 years has been… it’s remarkable. We didn’t kill each other, first of all,” Rinna reflected, sharing her appreciation for her long-standing marriage.

Rinna also acknowledged the challenge of keeping the spark alive in a relationship. “We still like each other,” she said, before adding, “We’re still attracted to each other. Sometimes we’re like, ‘What? How?’ It’s a miracle.”

Katya agreed, noting that lasting relationships are rare, and Rinna’s 32-year marriage is nothing short of extraordinary. “It’s amazing,” Katya remarked.

Navigating Marriage: Keeping Things Fresh

Rinna shared her thoughts on the secret to keeping her marriage alive and thriving, joking that good “porn” can sometimes help maintain a healthy dynamic. She emphasized the importance of maintaining attraction and mutual respect in long-term relationships, acknowledging the challenge of making it work despite external pressures.

As the conversation continued, Rinna revealed that she has observed a troubling trend among couples who post excessively about their relationships on social media. “I see it every day—people posting all these lovey-dovey photos,” she said. She noted that the public display of perfection often signals trouble ahead. “I think it’s a setup for failure,” she added, cautioning against oversharing on social media. Katya agreed, suggesting that keeping some parts of your life private is the best approach.

Rinna also advised against renewing vows, a practice that some couples do after a significant milestone. “Never renew your vows,” she insisted. “It’s a kiss of death, honey.” Katya quickly added, “Don’t renew your vows or you’ll get divorced,” emphasizing Rinna’s point.

In a lively and candid conversation with drag queen Katya Zamolodchikova, television personality Lisa Rinna for Grindr’s Am I The A**hole podcast.

The two shared humorous insights into everything from personal relationships to the highs and lows of life in the public eye, with Rinna acknowledging the pivotal role the LGBTQ+ community has played in her career.

Becoming a Gay Icon: Rinna Reflects on Her Journey

During their exchange, Katya asked Rinna when she became aware of her status as one of the top gay icons. “I’m aware now because I’ve been told,” Rinna responded. “The gays, they helped me through my really rough year, my really rough last year on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Rinna explained how, during difficult moments on the reality show, the LGBTQ+ community was instrumental in supporting her. “They were there for me, and they pushed me through,” she said, a sentiment that resonated with many of her fans. The actress, who is known for her candidness on the show, has cultivated a strong fan base among the LGBTQ+ community, something she doesn’t take for granted.

Katya responded by reflecting on the unique role gay fans often play in reality TV culture. “I don’t watch the show, but I see how people—it’s almost like a… a moral morality courtroom in a way,” she said. Rinna, laughing, agreed, adding that it’s “so bizarre” how the show can evolve into something that feels more like a societal trial than simple entertainment.

“It’s just a show,” Rinna added. “I look at it like sports. It’s gay sports.” Her comparison of reality TV to sports is particularly apt, as both have loyal followings and are often subject to intense scrutiny from fans. While reality TV can sometimes feel overly dramatic, Rinna seemed to suggest that it’s best enjoyed with the same enthusiasm and detachment that people often reserve for sports.

Katya, ever the insightful interviewer, took a moment to reference an often-quoted sentiment from icons like Judy Garland or Liza Minnelli, who have long embraced the LGBTQ+ community. “The gays have taste,” she said, referencing the deep appreciation and connection that the LGBTQ+ community has with art, culture, and pop icons. Rinna wholeheartedly agreed, acknowledging that the LGBTQ+ community is known for its discerning taste. “They sure do,” she said. “It’s true.”

Reality TV: A Glimpse Behind the Curtain

The discussion then shifted toward the nature of reality television itself, with both Katya and Rinna sharing their perspectives on the genre. Katya, reflecting on her time competing on RuPaul’s Drag Race, recalled how she and her fellow drag queens entered the competition with no formal training or experience in front of cameras.

“It’s amazing what you guys do,” Rinna said, genuinely impressed. “You’ve never been in front of a camera? Just performing?” Katya explained how the drag queens had no expectations going into the show, which made the experience even more challenging. Despite their lack of experience, Katya and the others quickly adapted and became stars in their own right, demonstrating the power of performance and the importance of the LGBTQ+ community in shaping mainstream culture.

Katya, known for her quick wit, noted the odd nature of reality competitions, commenting on how, despite having no formal training, the drag queens were expected to perform under the public’s scrutiny. “It’s so… it’s so cunty,” Katya said, using her signature humor to highlight the tension and high stakes involved in reality TV. Rinna agreed, noting the oddity of shows where individuals are thrust into the spotlight with little preparation.

A Unique Bond with Fans: The Gays’ Unwavering Support

Rinna reflected further on her connection with her LGBTQ+ fans, expressing gratitude for the support they’ve shown her over the years. “The gays supported me and were there for me, and I will never forget that,” she said with sincerity. This bond has helped Rinna navigate the ups and downs of her career, including the challenges of being on a reality show that often pits contestants and cast members against each other in public forums.

For many, Rinna’s authenticity and willingness to embrace her own flaws have endeared her to the LGBTQ+ community. The fans who supported her during tough times on The Real Housewives made it clear that they saw something genuine in Rinna, beyond the drama and the television ratings.

Reality TV: A Love-Hate Relationship with the Public Eye

As Rinna continued to reflect on her career in reality TV, Katya asked her to expand on her thoughts about social media and its role in shaping relationships today. The two discussed the trend of posting personal milestones, such as romantic photos, online. While both agreed that it can be nice to share happy moments occasionally, Rinna was quick to caution against over-sharing.

“It’s like, what are you trying to prove?” Rinna asked, echoing her earlier sentiments about keeping parts of one’s life private. This was a theme that ran through much of their conversation, as both Katya and Rinna agreed that social media can sometimes put undue pressure on relationships, turning them into public spectacles rather than private connections. Rinna also echoed her earlier advice about vow renewals, adding that too many public displays of affection can actually harm relationships.

From her experiences on The Real Housewives to her deep connection with the LGBTQ+ community, Lisa Rinna’s journey has been anything but conventional. Yet, through it all, she remains one of the most beloved figures in reality television, supported by fans who appreciate her openness, humor, and authenticity.

Homeless Trans Women in the U.S. May Be Denied Shelter Access Due to New Department of Housing and Urban Development Regulations

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has suspended the enforcement of a regulation that prevented discrimination based on gender identity in federally funded programs. This move, which could limit access to essential services for transgender individuals, follows a recent directive issued by HUD Secretary Scott Turner shortly after he assumed office.

In a decisive shift from previous policies, Turner ordered the halt of any future or pending enforcement actions related to the 2016 rule known as Equal Access in Accordance With an Individual’s Gender Identity in Community Planning and Development Programs. This regulation expanded upon the 2012 Equal Access Rule, which prohibited discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, and marital status, ensuring that core HUD programs were open to all eligible individuals and families.

Now, under the new directive, housing programs, shelters, and other HUD-funded service providers will align their services based on an individual’s sex at birth, mirroring former President Donald Trump’s executive order that declared “there are only two sexes.” As a result, transgender individuals, particularly trans women, may face significant barriers to accessing female-designated shelters and other services intended to support women.

Turner, a former NFL player for the Buffalo Bills and San Diego Chargers, defended the policy change during a recent announcement, claiming that the 2016 rule had linked HUD programs to “far-left gender ideology.” He emphasized that the department’s efforts would align with President Trump’s stance on biological sex.

“We, at this agency, are carrying out the mission laid out by President Trump when he signed an executive order to restore biological truth to the federal government,” Turner said. “This means recognizing there are only two sexes: male and female. It means getting government out of the way of what the Lord established from the beginning when he created man in his own image.”

In his comments, Turner also outlined his broader goals for HUD, vowing to focus on the department’s core mission of providing affordable housing and promoting economic investment in communities nationwide. He stressed that the decision was part of a broader effort to ensure taxpayer dollars are spent efficiently and in line with the administration’s priorities.

This move comes as part of a larger pattern of actions taken by the Trump administration to restrict the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals, particularly those in the transgender community. The former president signed several executive orders during his time in office that targeted the rights of transgender people, including a ban on transgender individuals serving in the military, prohibitions on trans women competing in women’s sports, and limitations on gender-affirming healthcare for minors.

While the suspension of the HUD rule is viewed as a significant setback for LGBTQ+ advocates, the change could have far-reaching implications. Transgender individuals, particularly those experiencing homelessness, rely heavily on federally funded shelters and housing programs for basic safety and survival. Without the protections that the 2016 rule provided, many could face discrimination or be forced into unsafe environments.

LGBTQ+ advocacy groups have already expressed their concerns over the decision, warning that it could disproportionately impact vulnerable trans people. Organizations such as the Human Rights Campaign and the National LGBTQ Task Force have criticized the move as a step backward for civil rights, particularly for transgender individuals who are already at higher risk of homelessness and violence.

The decision to stop enforcing the Equal Access rule is also likely to reignite ongoing debates about the rights of transgender individuals in the U.S. Critics argue that such policies undermine the basic principle of equal access to services, while supporters of the move argue that it represents a necessary correction to what they see as overreach by the previous administration.

As the HUD policy change begins to take effect, LGBTQ+ advocates are bracing for potential legal challenges and further legislative actions aimed at reversing the decision. The battle over LGBTQ+ rights, particularly for transgender individuals, is expected to remain a key point of contention in U.S. politics, with both sides preparing for continued advocacy and resistance in the months ahead.

The suspension of this rule highlights the ongoing struggle for LGBTQ+ rights in the United States, a fight that continues to evolve at the intersection of law, policy, and public opinion. For now, the fate of transgender access to HUD programs rests in the hands of the current administration, which has made clear its intention to prioritize other issues, such as affordable housing and economic development, over the inclusion of transgender individuals in federally funded services.

As the situation unfolds, transgender advocates and their allies will likely continue to push for protections and push back against efforts to roll back hard-won rights.
