Maren Morris Embraces New Era of Queer Joy And Honesty With ‘Dreamsicle’ Album Drop Friday

0

With her fourth studio album Dreamsicle set to drop Friday, Grammy-winning singer Maren Morris is stepping into a bold new chapter—one marked by vulnerability, self-discovery and unapologetic authenticity.

In a recent interview with The Zoe Report, Morris opened up about her bisexuality for the first time publicly, reflecting on how the journey has helped her connect more deeply with herself—and with her fans.

“I’ve always known that I am attracted to men and women,” Morris said. After years of heterosexual relationships and navigating the conservative world of Nashville country music, she admitted she never felt “brave enough” to speak her truth. “That was just a facet of me that I didn’t think I wanted private anymore,” she added. “I wanted to be able to connect with my fans and my queer community.”

That connection, she said, became a lifeline. Following her 2023 divorce and high-profile departure from mainstream country, Morris found healing through queer friendships and creative collaborations—including with the band MUNA, co-writing the sultry, synth-driven track “Push Me Over.” The song includes a wink of a lyric—“sittin’ on the fence feels good between my legs”—that’s already making waves. Morris is more than ready for the discourse.

“Especially in a time where you’re in this free-for-all post-divorce reckoning,” she said, “being honest and being vulnerable is the only way that you find community.”

From Nashville Rebel to Queer Trailblazer

Morris has long worn the hat of ally and advocate. In 2023, she was honored by GLAAD with its Excellence in Media Award and made headlines when she distanced herself from country music altogether. At the time, she called out the genre’s embrace of bigotry during Trump’s presidency, telling the Los Angeles Times, “It just revealed who people really were and that they were proud to be misogynistic and racist and homophobic and transphobic.”

Her official coming-out moment arrived in June 2024 via a now-deleted Instagram post. Alongside a photo of her waving Pride flags during her RSVP Redux Tour stop in Phoenix, she wrote, “Happy to be the B in the LGBTQ+,” and wished fans a “Happy Pride.” (Her page has since been scrubbed of all posts prior to March 2025, suggesting a fresh start rather than regret.)

A New Era Begins

With Dreamsicle, Morris invites listeners into a world shaped by queer joy, unfiltered honesty, and emotional growth. She’s not asking for permission—and certainly not following anyone else’s script.

The album drops May 9, and it marks more than just a new release. It’s a reclamation.

‘Grand Theft Auto VI’ Trailer Drops and the Internet Can’t Handle the Hot New Protagonist

0

Rockstar Games released a new trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, and while the video features high-stakes heists and stunning graphics, the internet has zeroed in on something else entirely: the game’s steamy new leading man.

Fans have waited more than a decade for a glimpse of the next installment in the iconic open-world franchise, and the second official trailer did not disappoint. But what has social media in a frenzy isn’t just the return to Vice City or the promise of high-octane drama—it’s Jason Duval, the game’s chiseled, sweat-drenched protagonist.

The clip opens with Jason climbing shirtless off a rooftop, his glistening six-pack front and center. It’s an entrance that has fueled a tidal wave of thirst online. “Jason from GTA 6 would fix me,” one fan joked on X, formerly Twitter. Another added, “I didn’t know I could fall in love with a polygon.”

Jason is paired with co-protagonist Lucia Caminos, marking the first time a woman has held a fully developed lead role in a Grand Theft Auto title since the series began in 1997. While there have been playable female characters in earlier games, Lucia appears to be breaking new ground with her depth and prominence.

According to the official synopsis, Jason and Lucia are partners in crime—and perhaps more. The trailer teases a high-stakes story where the duo finds themselves caught in a conspiracy after a heist gone wrong. Set in the sun-soaked and dangerous state of Leonida, a fictional take on Florida, GTA VI promises a gritty narrative about survival, loyalty, and trust.

Still, plot details have taken a back seat to the online obsession with the game’s male lead. The LGBTQ+ community, in particular, has claimed Jason as their newest virtual crush, despite his seemingly straight relationship with Lucia in the game. And the bisexual crowd? Equally torn. “Lucia or Jason? Why not both?” one post read.

The buzz also includes speculation about fan-made adult content that is sure to follow the game’s release. While the GTA franchise has been criticized for its lack of LGBTQ+ representation, the new leads have opened up conversation—and sparked plenty of daydreams.

Grand Theft Auto VI is set for release on May 26, 2026.

Until then, fans will be rewatching that trailer—on loop.

Griffin Matthews Reflects on Colman Domingo’s Impact and Career-Changing Advice

Griffin Matthews knows the power of representation—and he’s got a mentor who’s been paving the way for years: Colman Domingo. The two actors share more than just screen credits; they share a bond built on mutual respect, artistic ambition, and an unapologetic embrace of Black queer visibility in Hollywood.

We sat down with Matthews to talk about his role in the final season of Netflix’s thriller You, but it quickly turned into a Colman Domingo fan club moment. Because how could it not?

“I just finished Coleman’s series—all that Coleman Domingo is doing. That is what I want to do,” Matthews told Gayety. “The career that Coleman Domingo is having is absolutely incredible.”

Netflix

How One Conversation Changed Everything

Both Matthews and Domingo have stepped into the shoes of civil rights leader Bayard Rustin—but in two very different ways. Domingo portrayed Rustin in Netflix’s Rustin, a 2024 biopic produced by Higher Ground Productions that earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. His performance brought Rustin’s legacy to life, spotlighting his role in organizing the 1963 March on Washington and his activism as an openly gay Black man.

For Matthews, the opportunity came through Genius: MLK/X, the fourth season of National Geographic’s acclaimed anthology series. The series, which premiered in February 2024, explored the lives of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X, with Matthews taking on the role of Rustin.

When Matthews first got the audition for Genius, he wasn’t sure he was ready. “I was like, ‘Colman, they want me to audition for Bayard. I’m not ready. I can’t do it. I don’t think that they’re going to see me as Bayard,’” Matthews recalled.

Domingo’s response was instant and impactful. “He was like, ‘Griffin, you can do it. You have a European-ness about you, like James Baldwin… You’ve got that dandy thing,’” Matthews said. “And I got the job literally days later.”

That vote of confidence wasn’t just a boost—it was a turning point. “We have touch-base sessions with each other where we just talk about the business and our lives inside of the business. I count him as a friend and a mentor,” Matthews said.

Fashion as a Form of Liberation

Domingo’s influence isn’t limited to acting. His bold fashion choices have also inspired Matthews to take up space unapologetically. At a recent lunch, Domingo told him something that stuck:

“I don’t think he’d mind that I’m sharing this, but he said to me, ‘I dress for all of us. I dress for you, and I dress for all of the Black men that are trying to elevate,’” Matthews shared.

“It’s not just for him. It is giving me a window to go, I can wear a yellow suit on the red carpet because Colman is doing all of those things,” Matthews said. “I think I can walk in here with this yellow suit, and I don’t think people are going to go, ‘What is he doing?’ I think we’re going, ‘Yeah, that’s what we’re all doing now.’”

A Dream to Lead—and to Disrupt

With Domingo’s mentorship lighting the way, Matthews is ready to take his own path forward. “I want to lead a series. It hasn’t happened yet. I’ve been in the business for 20-plus years, and I tend to play the position of the disruptor. And I would love to lead a series where people get to peer into the world of what it actually is to be a gay Black man living in 2025,” he said.

He’s clear on his goal: to tell stories that go beyond surface representation and into the real lives of queer Black men. “We have to start to not just have these characters in place, but we’ve got to go home with them so we can really know what’s happening behind those closed doors,” Matthews explained.

Matthews credits Domingo for showing him what’s possible. “He’s a real artist. A real one,” he said proudly. “Anything he’s doing, I want to be part of it.”

Lee Pace Heats Up the Galaxy in Shirtless First Look at ‘Foundation’ Season 3

0

Apple TV+ just dropped a slew of first-look images from the upcoming third season of its ambitious sci-fi epic Foundation—but let’s be honest, all eyes are on one photo in particular.

Among the new visuals from the adaptation of Isaac Asimov’s legendary series is a steamy image of actor Lee Pace, who returns as the genetically cloned Emperor Cleon. In the photo, Pace appears shirtless, draped only in a loosely worn piece of fabric resting low on his hips. With his long, flowing hair and a rugged beard, the 46-year-old actor is serving full space barbarian fantasy—and fans are very much here for it.

A Galactic Glow-Up

While the first two seasons saw Pace with a cleaner-cut appearance, season three seems to usher in a more rebellious, untamed look for his imperial character. According to the new trailer, Cleon appears to have abandoned his throne, raising plenty of questions for viewers who’ve been following the show’s interstellar chess game of power, politics, and rebellion.

But let’s be real: the plot will have to wait. The internet has already launched into a collective swoon, focusing less on intergalactic alliances and more on Pace’s jaw-dropping physique.

Shirtless Shenanigans: A Tradition Continues

This isn’t the first time Pace has sent fans into orbit with a shirtless moment. After wrapping season two, the actor posted a behind-the-scenes video of himself training with a stunt coordinator—sans shirt, of course. The post racked up thousands of likes and fire emojis, cementing his status as the sci-fi thirst trap we never knew we needed.

Why You Should Catch Up Now

If Foundation hasn’t made it to your Apple TV+ queue yet, consider this your sign. With sleek visuals, high-concept storytelling, and now a shirtless Lee Pace with action-hero energy, there’s never been a better time to dive in. While your friends are busy watching Severance or Ted Lasso, you could be following the saga of cloned emperors, far-off worlds, and one of the hottest characters in the galaxy.

Foundation season three is expected to premiere later this year. Until then, enjoy the photo. You know the one.

Netflix Heartthrobs Unite for Medieval Horror Film ‘Rapture’

0

Get ready for a frightfully fabulous blend of historical drama and zombie horror. Netflix stars Kit Connor and Manu Ríos are stepping back in time — and into the undead — for the upcoming feature Rapture, joining On Swift Horses actor Will Poulter in what promises to be a haunting, high-stakes thriller set in 14th-century England.

A post shared by Manu Rios (@manurios)

A Plague of Biblical Proportions

According to a synopsis first reported by Deadline, Rapture unfolds in the year 1348, within the isolated walls of Lansley Abbey, a medieval Yorkshire monastery home to ten devout monks. Their routine lives of prayer and preservation are thrown into disarray when a mysterious messenger arrives bearing two things: a grim warning and a deadly illness.

The affliction spreads quickly and grotesquely — beginning with hemorrhagic fever and ending with the rise of the infected as “revenants,” or undead beings. As the world outside begins to rot, the monks inside are faced with escalating tensions, moral conflict, and the ultimate question: should they throw open their gates in compassion, or close ranks to protect the sacred knowledge housed within?

Blood, Betrayal and Bisexual Energy

With Heartstopper’s Kit Connor and Élite star Manu Ríos headlining alongside the ever-versatile Will Poulter, queer fans are especially buzzing over the cast lineup — though any LGBTQ+ plotlines remain unconfirmed. Still, hopes are high (and jokes are flying) about potential “monk-on-monk” moments.

Behind the camera is Jordan Tannahill, a Governor General’s Literary Award-winning playwright making his feature film debut. A noted voice in LGBTQ+ arts and culture, Tannahill’s involvement is raising expectations for both substance and scares.

“We have all been blown away by the vision Jordan has for Rapture,” said Gabrielle Stewart, CEO of HanWay Films. “It is rare to have such an atmospheric and terrifying zombie horror film that inhabits such an authentic historical world, with complex characters grappling with the biggest moral dilemmas.”

Coming Soon to a Cloister Near You

Rapture is set to begin production later this year in Hungary, with additional casting to be announced. While no release date has been confirmed, the film is already drawing interest for its genre-blending premise and bold casting.

Whether it delivers theological introspection or just hot monks fighting zombies, one thing is certain: Rapture has the makings of a cult hit.

Stay tuned for more updates — and maybe, just maybe, a little undead romance.

Margaret Qualley Takes on Chris Evans in First Trailer for Ethan Coen’s Dark Comedy ‘Honey Don’t!’

0

Margaret Qualley and Chris Evans headline Ethan Coen’s latest film, Honey Don’t!, a dark comedy set to premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. The film is the second installment in Coen and Tricia Cooke’s “lesbian B-movie trilogy,” following Drive-Away Dolls (2024). The movie is scheduled for a theatrical release in the United States on August 22, 2025.

Plot and Setting

Set in Bakersfield, California, Honey Don’t! follows Honey O’Donahue (Qualley), a sharp-witted private investigator who delves into a series of mysterious deaths linked to a secretive church. Evans portrays Priest Dean, the enigmatic leader of the church under investigation. Aubrey Plaza joins the cast as a mysterious woman connected to the case, adding to the film’s intrigue.

The film’s tone is reminiscent of Coen’s earlier works, such as Raising Arizona and No Country for Old Men, blending dark humor with suspense. The retro, desert setting and stylized dialogue contribute to its unique atmosphere.

Cast and Characters

  • Margaret Qualley as Honey O’Donahue, the private investigator

  • Chris Evans as Priest Dean, the cult leader

  • Aubrey Plaza as a mysterious woman connected to the case

  • Charlie Day as a detective

  • Billy Eichner in a supporting role

  • Gabby Beans, Talia Ryder, Lena Hall, Jacnier, and Kristen Connolly in additional roles

Production Details

Principal photography for Honey Don’t! commenced in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in March 2024, employing over 600 local workers. The film is produced by Coen, Cooke, Robert Graf, Tim Bevan, and Eric Fellner. The production utilized New Mexico’s unique landscapes and skilled crews, contributing to the film’s distinct visual style.

Themes and Style

Honey Don’t! explores themes of deception, power, and identity, set against the backdrop of a small-town mystery. Qualley describes her character as “skillful, smooth, and slipping in and out undetected,” contrasting with her natural inclination to diffuse situations. The film’s noir-inspired dialogue and character dynamics add depth to its narrative.

Festival Premiere and Release

The film will have its world premiere in the Midnight Screenings section of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, running from May 13 to 24. Following its festival debut, Honey Don’t! is set for a theatrical release in the United States on August 22, 2025.
