And for the record, Liam was in my opinion the most vital part of One Direction. His experience from a young age, his perfect pitch, his stage presence, his gift for writing. The list goes on. Thank you for shaping us Liam.

A message to you Liam if you’re listening,

I feel beyond lucky to have had you in my life but I’m really struggling with the idea of saying goodbye. I’m so grateful that we got even closer since the band, speaking on the phone for hours , reminiscing about all the thousands of amazing memories we had together is a luxury I thought I’d have with you for life. I would have loved to share the stage with you again but it wasn’t to be.

I want you to know that if Bear ever needs me I will be the Uncle he needs in his life and tell him stories of how amazing his dad was.

Halloween might still be weeks away, but Spirit Halloween is already gearing up for the next big celebration—Christmas! The seasonal retail giant, known for transforming empty storefronts into spooky wonderlands, is making the leap from haunted houses to holiday cheer.

Spirit Halloween, a pop-up staple owned by Spencer Gifts, first opened in the Bay Area in 1983. Every year, it takes over vacant spaces to sell costumes, eerie home decor, and larger-than-life animatronics. This year, however, they’re sticking around a bit longer, bringing the spirit of Christmas to 10 brand-new locations across the Northeast under their Spirit Christmas banner.

The Spirit website promises an array of festive goodies, including “thousands of stocking stuffers, holiday apparel, fun gifts, unique decor, and all the trimmings to make your Christmas unforgettable.”

But can hurricanes really exceed Category 5 status? The short answer is no—there is no such thing as a Category 6 hurricane.

The Classification of Hurricane Milton

Hurricane Milton has been in flux. On Monday, Oct. 7, the storm intensified to a Category 5 with maximum sustained winds over 157 mph, but by early Tuesday morning, it was downgraded back to a Category 4. Currently, Milton is situated about 520 miles southwest of Tampa, Fla., packing winds of 150 mph as it heads towards a potential landfall on the Florida coast. Despite these changes, the storm has ignited questions about whether hurricanes can grow beyond the existing scale.

Why There’s No Category 6

To understand why a Category 6 hurricane doesn’t exist, we need to examine the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. This scale, used by meteorologists and the National Weather Service, categorizes hurricanes based on their sustained wind speeds. The scale has five categories:

Could a Category 6 Ever Be Necessary?

Climate scientist Michael Wehner and retired federal scientist Jim Kossin have pointed out that hurricanes like Milton, if their winds surpass 192 mph, would enter a rare group of storms.
