Miley Cyrus may soon be adding a new credit to her résumé – the soundtrack of Heated Rivalry.

The pop star and actor said she would be “so in” to create music for the second season of the hit Crave and HBO Max series while speaking with Variety at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. The first season of the LGBTQ romantic drama wrapped Dec. 26 and quickly became one of the most talked-about shows of the year among queer audiences.

“I have not watched yet, but this is on my to-do list now,” Cyrus said. “Heated Rivalry is all I’ve heard about, of how much I’m going to be obsessed. This is, like, every conversation I’ve had today has started with, ‘You have to do this.’”

When asked about contributing original music to the show’s second season, the singer didn’t hesitate.

“Oh, I’m so in! Book me. Get me booked!” she said.

Cyrus’ comments were later shared with Heated Rivalry star François Arnaud at the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday. Arnaud, who plays Scott Hunter on the series, responded with humor and optimism.

“I think we might get a little bit bigger budget for season two, but I don’t know if we get Miley budget,” Arnaud joked, before adding, “I think if she sees the show, she might give us a discount.”

Based on Rachel Reid’s beloved novel, Heated Rivalry stars Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie as Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, rival professional hockey players whose intense competition evolves into a secret romance that unfolds over eight years. The series earned widespread critical acclaim for showrunner Jacob Tiernay’s writing and direction, its loyalty to the source material and the undeniable chemistry between its leads.

The final two episodes, titled “I’ll Believe in Anything” and “The Cottage,” were especially praised by fans and critics, each earning near-perfect 9.9 out of 10 ratings on IMDb. Williams and Storrie have also seen their profiles surge since the finale, with both actors now surpassing 1.3 million followers on Instagram.

A second season of Heated Rivalry has already been confirmed. Tiernay recently told Entertainment Weekly that viewers won’t have to endure a long wait for its return.

“It’s not gonna be two years. It’s not even gonna be 18 months, I don’t think,” Tiernay said. “We’re gonna go as fast as we can, while ensuring that we’re doing as good a job as we possibly can.”
