On Saturday, Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m., Lincoln Center will become the prom night you always wished for. Live performances, slow dances, shimmering mylar, and unapologetic good times await guests at Prom Queer, a one-night-only event reimagining one of life’s most iconic rites of passage.

A Celebration of Reclaimed Prom
The evening features viral performance collective Apocalypse Noir, making their Lincoln Center debut. The group, led by club kid icon Andrew Barret Cox with Hayley Moir and Dani Lu, is known for blending drag, punk rock, cabaret, and theater into cinematic, high-energy performances. This event offers a chance to reclaim prom as a bold, affirming space for anyone who ever felt out of place.

“I was always the ‘weird kid,’” Cox said. “Too much for teen theater, too clubby or dark in my songwriting, too flamboyant in my fashion. This night is about reclaiming that moment for anyone who felt they didn’t belong.”

Adding to the evening’s spectacle is Hovy Garth, whose retro-romantic performances and visually stunning shows elevate the prom experience with cinematic flair. Together, Apocalypse Noir and Garth promise a night where couture meets punk, and nostalgia meets liberation.
