It’s officially a scream-worthy reunion: Ariana Grande is joining the cast of American Horror Story Season 13, marking her return to Ryan Murphy’s horror universe a full decade after her appearance in his cult-favorite series Scream Queens.

The announcement came directly from Ryan Murphy Productions, which posted a moody teaser video to Instagram revealing the star-studded lineup. Against a haunting rendition of Vera Lynn’s “I’ll Be Seeing You,” the screen flashed the names of franchise regulars — including Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe and Leslie Grossman, before revealing Grande’s name at the end.

While plot details for Season 13 remain under wraps, the cast announcement alone has sent fans into a frenzy. The season will bring back many of the series’ most iconic performers, making it one of the most anticipated chapters of the long-running FX anthology.

Grande’s return to Murphy’s creative fold feels like a full-circle moment. The pop icon, who’s currently preparing for her Eternal Sunshine world tour, has long credited Scream Queens for reigniting her love of acting. Her addition to AHS, a franchise known for blending camp, queerness and chaos, is already sparking speculation about what kind of twisted role she’ll take on.

Both Murphy and Grande have deep roots in queer culture: Murphy as the creator of Pose and Glee, and Grande as a longtime LGBTQ+ ally and performer beloved within the community. Their reunion promises a season steeped in glamour, horror, and high drama — all signatures of American Horror Story’s enduring legacy.

Season 13 of “American Horror Story” is currently in production and expected to premiere on FX and Hulu in 2026.
