Praise be — we finally have a another look at Honey Don’t!, the upcoming Focus Features dark comedy from Ethan Coen and Tricia Cooke, and it’s giving queer detective drama with a wicked twist.
Newly released photos and a bold poster introduce us to Margaret Qualley as Honey O’Donahue, a small-town private investigator with a sharp eye and even sharper instincts. When a string of suspicious deaths leads back to a secretive church, Honey dives into the case—and into trouble.
The poster’s headline says it all:
“She only has two desires. And one of them is justice.”
We have a few guesses about the other one (hi, Aubrey Plaza).

A Dark Comedy With Bite
Directed by Coen and co-written with Cooke—his longtime collaborator and wife—Honey Don’t! blends small-town mystery, religious scandal, and a whole lot of queer chaos.
Qualley leads a stacked cast that includes Aubrey Plaza, Charlie Day, Billy Eichner, and Chris Evans in what might be his boldest role yet. Based on the first images, we’re getting femme fatale energy, corrupt church leaders, and a whole lot of secrets.

What to Expect
From the looks of it, Honey Don’t! isn’t just a murder mystery—it’s a campy, darkly funny ride through obsession, desire, and revenge. The visuals are moody and dramatic, with a retro edge that feels totally fresh.
