Bob the Drag Queen is bringing his charisma to Broadway. At the MISTR National PrEP Day Blue Carpet at The Abbey, Bob announced he will join Moulin Rouge at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre starting January 22, 2026.
“It’s a big, big dream of mine,” Bob said. “Me at 18 in Columbus, Georgia would’ve been gagging right now.” For a performer who has graced stages from intimate drag bars to Madison Square Garden, this Broadway debut represents the culmination of nearly two decades of performing.
From Theater Major to Broadway Star
Bob’s journey began as a theater major in Columbus, Georgia, though he admits his school days weren’t perfect. “I was a really bad student. Actually, a terrible student. Yeah. I almost funked out, but I didn’t. I dropped out,” he said. Yet that early passion for theater stayed with him, eventually guiding him to New York City 17 years ago to chase the ultimate stage.
“Being on Broadway is the pinnacle of a lifelong dream,” Bob explained. “I’ve been everywhere, from Barracuda Bar to Madison Square Garden, but Broadway was always the goal.”
A Long Road Paved with Talent and Luck
Landing the role wasn’t just a stroke of luck. “They actually reached out to me,” Bob said. “I’m just trying to sound like a diva, but I got lucky. I did audition a lot of times and didn’t make other stuff.” His journey reflects persistence, talent, and a willingness to take every stage as a step toward the next big opportunity.
Bob’s announcement resonated with fans at the event, who cheered the news and celebrated a moment 18-year-old Bob could only have dreamed of.
The Dream Realized
Starting January 22, audiences can see Bob bring his unique energy and stage presence to Moulin Rouge on Broadway. For a performer whose career spans intimate bars, massive arenas, and televised competitions, this debut is more than a role, it’s a milestone that fulfills a lifelong ambition.
“It’s been a long journey, and this moment makes every bit of it worth it,” Bob said.
