HBO has renewed I Love LA for a second season, bringing Rachel Sennott and her sharp, sun-bleached portrait of twenty-something life in Los Angeles back to the screen. The first season became a quiet breakout for the network, averaging 2 million viewers across HBO and Max and quickly building a dedicated following.
While the comedy centers on an ambitious friend group navigating careers, friendships, and relationships in LA, the show also features queer main characters, including Jordan Firstman’s Charlie, and who knows what awaits in the remainder of the season.

The World of I Love LA
Sennott stars as Maia, an aspiring talent manager trying to balance her struggling career with the return of her influencer friend Tallulah (Odessa A’zion). The ensemble includes Charlie (Firstman), a popular West Hollywood stylist; Alani (True Whitaker), the daughter of a famous actor; and Maia’s boyfriend Dylan, played by Josh Hutcherson.
The show also made headlines for its standout guest stars, including Moses Ingram, Elijah Wood, Quenlin Blackwell, Froy Gutierrez, and Ayo Edebiri in a memorable cameo as a British pop star.

Sennott, who co-created and showruns the comedy, has described the series as “Entourage for internet girls,” inspired by the shifting versions of herself she encountered in her twenties. Speaking to Teen Vogue, she shared:
“Every character has their good moments and their bad moments… Hopefully they’re funny and they’re flawed. Those are the most interesting characters that I like to watch — and to play.”
