The first teaser for The Devil Wears Prada 2 dropped this morning, and it has everything we could possibly ask for. In just 51 seconds, the fashion world is thrown into a frenzy as Meryl Streep’s Miranda Priestly makes her grand return — this time in studded red Valentino heels that could cut glass. The teaser ends with a delicious moment: Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) stepping into the same elevator as Miranda, wearing sunglasses inside like she’s finally learned a few things about power dressing and self-preservation. What could this mean?

Unfortunately, we don’t see Emily (Emily Blunt) or Nigel (Stanley Tucci) in the teaser, but we’re willing to forgive it — after all, as Miranda once said, “By all means, move at a glacial pace.” The tone, the looks, and the ice-cold tension are all back.

Emily Blunt recently teased the revival during a red carpet interview and may have hinted at a deliciously tense rivalry between Miranda Priestly and her former assistant Emily Charlton.

“Why are Meryl and I so mean to each other in every movie we do?” Blunt laughed. “We always have beef with each other.”

While the story remains under wraps, the sequel’s cast is enough to send the internet into a frenzy. New additions include Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, Pauline Chalamet, B.J. Novak, and Conrad Ricamora. Also returning from the first film are Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman, reprising their roles as Lily and Irv.

Entertainment Weekly also reports that Colin from Accounts star and co-creator Patrick Brammall is stepping in as Andy’s new love interest. A source told the outlet that his character will be competing for Andy’s affection.

Behind the scenes, The Devil Wears Prada 2 brings back key players who made the first film a phenomenon. Wendy Finerman produces, with Michael Bederman, Karen Rosenfelt, and Aline Brosh McKenna — who also penned the original screenplay — serving as executive producers.

If the teaser is any indication, the sequel won’t just revisit Miranda Priestly’s empire, it will reimagine it for the modern era. Expect cutting-edge couture, biting commentary, and the kind of workplace warfare only Runway magazine can deliver.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 debuts exclusively in theaters May 1, 2026.
