After six years, countless luxury listings, and more than a few explosive arguments, Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause may be saying goodbye to the hit Netflix reality series for good.
In a new interview published Friday, Oct. 31, with Variety, the 44-year-old real estate agent and television personality revealed that she has no plans to return for another season of the show that made her a household name.
“I liked this season,” Stause said of Season 9, which premiered Oct. 29. “But I’m excited to move on from this chapter.”
Stause explained that the upcoming reunion special, filmed in August and set to air Nov. 5, was the turning point in her decision to leave. “The reunion was so brutal,” she said. “In that moment, I realized I will be done here going forward. I wish everyone the best, but this isn’t the place for me. It felt a little bit like a dog pile.”

Netflix has not yet confirmed whether Selling Sunset will return for a tenth season.
Stause joined the Oppenheim Group when Selling Sunset debuted in 2019, quickly becoming one of the show’s breakout stars. Over nine seasons, viewers watched her navigate heartbreak, career highs, and shifting friendships within the glamorous Los Angeles real estate scene.
Season 9 dives into several dramatic conflicts, including Stause’s fallout with fellow agent Emma Hernan, 33. Once close friends, the pair’s relationship reportedly soured when Hernan began dating Blake Davis, someone Stause said raised immediate red flags.

“When I met him, there were so many red flags that happened in one short meeting,” Stause told Variety. “Sometimes you meet someone and you may not like the way they dress, or they may rub you the wrong way because they’re a little awkward. I found real things to be dangerous with his personality.”
She added that much of the tension between her and Hernan didn’t make it to air. “We were best friends — me, Emma, and Chelsea [Lazkani], who she also doesn’t speak to anymore. It’s a sad situation,” Stause said.
Another emotional flashpoint this season comes during a heated “Girlsgiving” dinner, where Stause clashed with co-star Nicole Young. The two have had a rocky relationship since last year, when Stause accused Young of using drugs, a claim Young denied. This time, things escalated when Young made a shocking comment referencing Stause’s late parents.
“Honey, you’re confusing me with your parents, okay?” Young said during the argument.
Stause admitted she was “stunned” by the remark. “I can’t think of a situation in which that would be okay,” she said. “In the moment, it’s hard because these are my parents. That’s a topic that seems off-limits. She brings out the worst in me. Whoever can sink to bring up someone’s deceased parents — it’s pretty unforgivable.”
Despite the intense drama, Stause says she’s grateful for what Selling Sunset brought her, including new fans, business opportunities, and visibility as an openly queer woman in reality TV. Since coming out in 2022 and marrying Australian musician G Flip, Stause has spoken often about embracing authenticity and choosing happiness over performance.
That mindset seems to be guiding her next move. “I’m proud of what I’ve done and what I’ve shared,” she said. “But it’s time to focus on the next part of my life.”

While Stause didn’t reveal what’s next, she hinted that she’s exploring new creative projects outside of real estate and reality TV. “The show gave me a platform, and I’ll always be thankful for that,” she said. “But I think I’ve outgrown it.”
As Selling Sunset continues to evolve, with returning cast members Mary Bonnet, Amanza Smith, Nicole Young, Chelsea Lazkani, Emma Hernan, Bre Tiesi, and Alanna Gold, plus newcomer Sandra Vergara.
