Katseye is inviting fans to get closer than ever, literally. The global girl group has partnered with 5 Gum for a one-of-a-kind campaign that’s turning heads, raising eyebrows, and delighting their loyal fanbase, known as Eyekons.
The new “5 Gum x KATSEYE Senses Collection,” launching in limited drops between October 6 and 11, is a curated set of items themed around the five senses: sight, sound, taste, touch, and scent. But this isn’t your typical merch line.
Sure, there are the more expected items: a group-branded 5 Gum pack featuring each member’s favorite flavor and photo, and a special autographed edition of their latest album, Beautiful Chaos, complete with stickers. But it’s the more intimate collectibles that are making headlines, and sparking conversation.
Among them? A custom glass marble that matches the eye color of your favorite member (sight), a 5 Gum wrapper kissed and sealed with an actual lipstick print from one of the girls (touch), and perhaps most notably, a minty room spray that, yes, contains a member’s exhaled breath (scent).
“We obviously chewed gum so our breath was minty fresh or smelled really good,” said Megan, 19. “And then we just blew air into a bottle or we sang a little song and then tightly sealed it after.”
Sophia, 22, the group’s leader, took it even further. “I had two bottles. One I did a dramatic exhale, and the other one I sang into. I think I sang ‘Part of Your World,’” she said, referencing the classic Little Mermaid ballad.
Yoonchae, the group’s youngest member at 17, also contributed a musical moment—though she’s keeping fans guessing as to which Katseye song she chose.
The wrapper kiss prints—encased in clear protective cases, were another favorite among the girls. “We all had a really cute red lip,” said Lara, 19. “The amount of times I had to reapply lipstick… Yoonchae walked in on me and I had like 50 wrappers,” Sophia recalled with a laugh.
The collaboration marks a playful yet personal step for Katseye, which formed in 2023 through the HYBE x Geffen Records reality competition series The Debut: Dream Academy. The group’s lineup includes Daniela, 21; Lara, 19; Manon, 23; Megan, 19; Sophia, 22; and Yoonchae, 17—each of whom brought their own flair and creativity to the project.
“This campaign is all about connection through the senses,” said Sophia. “Some of us are fangirls too, and we love collecting artist merch, so we thought, ‘Why not make something totally unique for our fans to collect?’”
The campaign drops are timed ahead of the group’s Beautiful Chaos tour, which kicks off in November with stops in Minneapolis, New York City, Atlanta, Dallas, and Los Angeles. Lucky concertgoers may even have a chance to pick up exclusive gum packs at select venues.
“One of the coolest things about this campaign is that we have individual packs and then also a group one with all our faces on it,” Sophia added. “At a few shows, fans are gonna be able to get a free gum pack too.”
As for their gum habits? Katseye members admit they’ve gotten in trouble for chewing in class, accidentally stuck gum in their hair, and even—on more than one occasion—shared gum with a friend. “I swallowed gum for the first time a couple days ago while working on the campaign,” Daniela confessed.
The 5 Gum x KATSEYE Senses Collection will be released in limited daily drops between October 6 and 11 at 12 p.m. ET on 5gum.com/katseye. Quantities are limited, and given the buzz, fans are advised to act fast.
