Monét X Change is bringing her sharp wit and unmistakable stage presence to Las Vegas this January as the headliner of the inaugural Sin City Classic Comedy Show, a new addition to one of the largest LGBTQ+ sporting festivals in the world.
The show is set for Saturday, Jan. 17, at the El Dorado Ballroom inside Flamingo Las Vegas, expanding the Sin City Classic beyond courts, fields and arenas. Tickets are on sale now for $35 through the Sin City Classic website. Doors open at 8 p.m. PT, with the show beginning at 9 p.m.
The Sin City Classic Sports Festival, presented by Lexus, runs Jan. 15–19 and is produced annually by the Greater Los Angeles Softball Association. What began as a single softball tournament has grown into a multi-day gathering that blends athletic competition with nightlife, culture and community programming.
A New Kind of Center Stage
Organizers say the addition of a comedy showcase reflects how the event has evolved over nearly two decades.
“The Sin City Classic has become more than a sports weekend,” said co-executive director Dr. Jason Peplinski. “It’s a space where people reconnect, celebrate and build community. Adding a comedy show felt like a natural next step, and Monét X Change brings the kind of energy that fits that vision.”
Monét, a winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 4 and a current standout on Peacock’s The Traitors, has steadily carved out a name in stand-up comedy. Her solo show, Life Be Lifin’, played to sold-out rooms across the U.S., the U.K. and Canada, and earned praise for its personal storytelling and social commentary. Playbill compared her approach to established stand-ups known for blending humor with reflection.
Her comedy often pulls from everyday absurdities and cultural flashpoints, delivered with a tone that feels conversational rather than rehearsed. That sensibility has also powered her success as the co-host of the GLAAD Media Award-winning podcast Sibling Rivalry alongside Bob the Drag Queen, as well as her YouTube series Monét Talks.
From Drag Stages to Prime Time
Beyond live performance, Monét has expanded her reach on screen. In addition to multiple appearances within the Drag Race franchise, she has popped up on Netflix’s Survival of the Thickest and CBS’ After Midnight with Taylor Tomlinson. Her presence on The Traitors has introduced her to a broader audience unfamiliar with drag comedy, further cementing her crossover appeal.
That range makes her a fitting choice for a festival that draws thousands of athletes, fans and allies from around the globe.
Inside the Sin City Classic
Held annually over Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend, the Sin City Classic opens with a registration party at Flamingo Las Vegas, followed by competitions and social events spread across the city. The weekend concludes with a large-scale closing concert and party.
Founded in 2008 by GLASA, the event now includes 24 sports and welcomes an estimated 10,000 participants and spectators. This year’s lineup spans basketball, pickleball, swimming, volleyball, wrestling and rodeo, among many others.
The festival is hosted at Flamingo Las Vegas and supported by sponsors including Caesars Entertainment, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, AIDS Healthcare Foundation and ViiV Healthcare.
With the launch of its first comedy night, the Sin City Classic is signaling that laughter now has a seat at the table, right alongside competition, connection and celebration.
