Netflix rolled out a massive lineup of renewals, new projects, live events, and celebrity appearances during its fourth annual Upfront presentation this week. Along with announcing that the platform now reaches more than 250 million global monthly active viewers, the streamer also previewed several titles already generating huge excitement among LGBTQ+ audiences.

From sapphic period romance to murder-filled Texas socialites and Dan Levy’s increasingly messy crime comedy, here’s a breakdown of some of the biggest announcements.

One of the biggest updates from Netflix’s presentation was the renewal of Big Mistakes for a second season.

Netflix also revealed it has expanded its partnership with creator, showrunner, executive producer, and star Dan Levy through a new first-look series deal.

The dark comedy follows siblings Nicky and Morgan, two deeply unqualified people whose disastrous choices accidentally drag them into organized crime. Levy teased that Season 2 is already underway and promised the next chapter will be even more chaotic.

The series has already become a standout for queer audiences thanks to Levy’s signature humor, dysfunctional family dynamics, and stacked ensemble cast.

Francesca and Michaela’s Love Story is Coming in 2027

Netflix also confirmed that Bridgerton Season 5 will focus on Francesca Bridgerton and Michaela Stirling when the show returns in 2027.

The upcoming season marks the franchise’s first full sapphic love story, making it one of the streamer’s most anticipated LGBTQ+ releases in years.

Fans immediately embraced Michaela’s introduction in the previous season, and online conversation around the pairing has only continued to grow. The announcement is especially exciting as fans can expect to return to Bridgerton House sooner than expected.

‘The Hunting Wives’ Is Somehow Getting Even More Unhinged

Netflix also renewed The Hunting Wives for Season 2, and the rich-women-behaving-badly thriller appears ready to fully embrace the chaos.

Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman are both returning, alongside more murder, secrets, socialite drama, and suspiciously intense chemistry.

The biggest surprise addition to the cast is two-time WNBA All-Star Angel Reese, who joins the series as “Trainer Barbie,” which honestly sounds perfect for this universe.

In one of the wildest announcements of the presentation, Netflix revealed the KPop Demon Hunters World Concert Tour.

The live tour will bring the “Golden” fandom into arenas around the world in 2027, expanding the already massive audience surrounding the animated phenomenon.

Between the K-pop influence, animation fandom, and internet obsession surrounding the project, this already feels destined to become a huge crossover moment for queer fans online.
