Johnson Wen, the Australian influencer known as “Pyjama Man,” has once again made headlines for the wrong reasons. Weeks after disrupting the red carpet for Wicked: For Good in Singapore, Wen was escorted out of Lady Gaga’s Mayhem Ball in Brisbane, Australia, before he could stir up trouble.
The concert at Suncorp Stadium on Dec. 9 saw Wen removed by security, a moment he later confirmed on Instagram. Posting a selfie, Wen wrote: “Got kicked out of Lady Gaga concert! The show doesn’t start until 8pm! The early fans were booing me.” Videos circulating online show him flanked by security, attempting to navigate the crowd in disguise.
From Singapore to Australia: A History of Stunts
Wen first made global headlines during the Singapore premiere of Wicked: For Good on Nov. 13. Footage shows the influencer breaking through security and grabbing Ariana Grande on the yellow carpet, interrupting a group walk with co-stars Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum.
Erivo is seen immediately pulling Wen away and comforting Grande, who appeared shaken by the incident. Singapore authorities detained Wen for nine days before deporting him back to Australia, where he continued his attempts at celebrity encounters.
Who is Pyjama Man?
Johnson Wen has built an online persona around chaotic public appearances. Branding himself as the “Troll Most Hated,” Wen often wears colorful, pajama-inspired outfits in videos, earning his nickname, Pyjama Man. In the lead-up to the Singapore incident, he posted on Instagram Stories claiming Grande was his “best friend” and expressing excitement about meeting her.
BBC News reported that Wen faces charges of being a public nuisance in Singapore. This is not his first controversial stunt; he has previously appeared at events around the world and even launched a fundraiser to cover personal bills, which received no donations.
Social Media Spotlight
Despite legal trouble and public backlash, Wen’s antics continue to attract online attention. His Instagram posts following his Lady Gaga ejection show a mixture of defiance and humor, further cementing his reputation as a persistent, if unwelcome, celebrity interloper.
Pyjama Man’s story serves as a cautionary tale about celebrity obsession taken too far. While some fans may find his antics amusing, the repeated confrontations highlight the very real consequences of public disruption, from arrest to deportation, Wen’s pattern shows no signs of slowing down.
