Bleecker Street, World of Wonder, and Universal Pictures Content Group have announced the first-ever theatrical feature from the RuPaul’s Drag Race universe, an action-comedy directed by Adam Shankman and starring a lineup of fan-favorite queens.

Production has officially begun, with RuPaul leading a dazzling cast that includes Ginger Minj, Jujubee, Brooke Lynn Hytes, Latrice Royale, Marcia Marcia Marcia, Monét X Change, and Symone. Universal Pictures Content Group will handle international distribution, while Bleecker Street will release the film in North America in 2026.

A Campy Ride to Save the World

The untitled film follows best friends Tess (Ginger Minj) and DeeDee (Jujubee), weary train attendants who trade their dreary gigs on the Stank Rail for a glamorous upgrade aboard the Glamazonian Express.

When a chaotic “Stormaganza” threatens to derail the train and crash into Los Angeles, the pair must team up with their high-maintenance first-class counterparts, played by Symone, Brooke Lynn Hytes, Marcia Marcia Marcia, and Latrice Royale, and none other than President Gagwell (RuPaul). Together, they fight to save the day in a story packed with camp, comedy, and chaos.

The film is written by Connor Wright and Christina Friel and produced by World of Wonder, Bleecker Street, and Universal Pictures Content Group. Shankman, RuPaul Charles, Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, and Tom Campbell serve as producers, with Unapologetic Projects attached as executive producer and financier.

A Star-Studded Crew of Queens

Each queen brings a distinct flair to the project. Ginger Minj, fresh off Hocus Pocus 2 and her upcoming Hokus Pokus Live! tour, reunites with Jujubee, who also voices a role in the animated feature Sirenetta: Part-Time Mermaid.

Brooke Lynn Hytes continues to reign as host of Canada’s Drag Race and creator of 1 Queen 5 Queers. Latrice Royale, beloved since her Drag Race debut, brings her stage experience from London’s DeathDrop and her solo tours.

Season 15 breakout Marcia Marcia Marcia (a.k.a. Marty Lauter) brings Broadway credentials from Kinky Boots and Hello, Dolly! Monét X Change, a powerhouse comedian and co-host of Sibling Rivalry, adds sharp humor and charm. Meanwhile, Symone, Season 13 winner and breakout fashion icon, joins the lineup fresh from her roles in Bros and Station 19.

The Studio Behind the Spectacle

Bleecker Street has built a diverse 2025–26 slate, from the horror-thriller Bone Lake to the British parody Fackham Hall. The studio’s 2026 lineup includes Guy Nattiv’s Harmonia, Rob Lowe’s The Third Parent, and Alex Gibney’s Musk.

But with RuPaul at the helm and Shankman’s knack for spectacle, this drag-fueled adventure might just become the crown jewel of Bleecker Street’s upcoming releases.
