Actor Anna Camp is sharing a new chapter of her life, and she’s doing it publicly. During a candid appearance on the podcast I’ve Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario, the performer revealed that she identifies as bisexual, speaking openly about embracing her sexuality in her 40s in an exclusive clip with People.

The conversation arrives as Camp continues a busy year onscreen, including a role in Scream 7. But the personal milestone is what’s resonating most with fans.

Anna Camp speaks openly about her sexuality

In a clip from the podcast’s March 10 episode, Camp discussed the decision to publicly claim her identity.

“At 43, I’m proud of myself for owning my sexuality,” Camp said during the interview with host Tommy DiDario. She acknowledged that sharing something personal while working in entertainment can invite commentary.

“I’m a strong person for doing it in somewhat of a spotlight,” she said, noting that public figures often face judgment or speculation. “I’m really proud to be bisexual.”

Camp also framed the moment as part of a broader shift happening in her life. The actress said she has experienced what she called “a major evolution” in her 40s, and that leaning into that change has been meaningful.

Embracing change later in life

For Camp, the decision to speak about her sexuality publicly wasn’t without hesitation. She described feeling vulnerable about discussing it on a platform that reaches a wide audience.

Still, the actor said the alternative, ignoring that growth, felt less authentic.

“There are moments where it feels risky and scary,” she explained. “But I only get one life. I want to be happy.”

That perspective, she said, has shaped how she approaches both personal and professional choices. Rather than seeing identity as fixed, Camp views it as something that can expand over time.

“You think you know exactly who you are and how your life will go,” she said. “That’s happened to me more than once, where I thought I understood everything.”

Instead of staying within that earlier understanding, Camp said she chose to continue exploring and learning.

“I could have settled,” she added. “But I want to keep evolving.”

Relationship with Jade Whipkey Drew Online Attention

Camp’s comments come after she confirmed her relationship with writer and stylist Jade Whipkey in 2025. The couple made their red carpet debut at the premiere of Camp’s action comedy Bride Hard.

Their relationship sparked widespread conversation online, something Camp later addressed in an interview with Cosmopolitan.

She said the amount of attention caught them off guard but also noted the encouragement they received from fans.

“We’ve been surprised by the hubbub,” Camp said at the time. “But there’s been a lot of support, and we’re grateful for the people who are rooting for us.”

The actress also pointed out that the positive response has helped reinforce her confidence about living authentically.

Reflecting on Past Relationships

Before publicly identifying as queer, Camp had two high-profile marriages. She was previously married to actor Michael Mosley from 2010 to 2013.

Later, she wed her Pitch Perfect co-star Skylar Astin in 2016. The pair separated in April 2019 and finalized their divorce that same year.

Looking back, Camp said those chapters were part of the path that eventually led her to a clearer sense of herself.

A Moment of Pride and Visibility

Camp’s openness adds to a growing number of performers sharing their identities later in life. For many fans, the moment resonates because it highlights how self-discovery can happen at any age.

While discussing the topic on the podcast, Camp emphasized that she hopes her story encourages others to keep growing rather than feeling boxed in by expectations.

Her approach now, she said, is simple: remain curious about life and stay open to change.

“I want to continue learning,” Camp said. “That’s the goal.”
