Charli XCX is taking her signature neon aesthetic from the stage to the big screen. A24 has dropped the official trailer for The Moment, a mockumentary-style film starring the pop trailblazer as a heightened version of herself, a rising artist trying to balance stadium dreams, public scrutiny, and whatever “main pop girl” expectations actually mean.

The film is based on Charli’s own concept and marks the first project under her production company, Studio365. Directed by Aidan Zamiri, The Moment follows Charli as she prepares for her arena tour debut while navigating everything fame throws her way, from industry politics to viral gossip to creative burnout. Yes, it looks deliciously unhinged.

Fame, Fiction, and Brat-Fueled Self-Awareness

In the trailer, Charli leans into the satire, poking fun at her own persona while blurring the lines between reality and performance. It explores the thrill of being on the brink of pop superstardom and the anxiety of being commodified while staying true to your voice. Think Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, but with lime green eyeliner, A. G. Cook beats, and a wink to the massive Brat takeover.

“My acting journey has been incredibly inspiring,” Charli told Variety earlier this year. “I only ever want to do things that feel energizing and creatively exciting.” With The Moment, she clearly found both.

A Wild Cast Featuring Kylie Jenner’s Big-Screen Debut

The Moment boasts a cast that reads like somebody threw a fashion week guest list into a film credits generator. Kylie Jenner officially makes her acting debut, playing herself. Jenner recently admitted on Khloé Kardashian’s podcast that she was nervous to take on the role but ultimately committed to the plunge.

Joining the chaos are Alexander Skarsgård, Rachel Sennott, Rosanna Arquette, Kate Berlant, Hailey Benton Gates, Isaac Powell, Rish Shah, Shygirl, Jamie Demetriou, Michael Workéyè, Arielle Dombasle, Tish Weinstock, Mel Ottenberg, Trew Mullen and producer A. G. Cook.

Charli’s Film Era Is Heating Up

This isn’t Charli’s first time on camera. In 2024 alone, she appeared in Erupcja, 100 Nights of Hero, and Sacrifice. She’s also set to star in Daniel Goldhaber’s Faces of Death remake, Gregg Araki’s I Want Your Sex, and Cathy Yan’s The Gallerist alongside Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Natalie Portman.

But The Moment hits different, it’s her idea, her universe, and her brand of messy genius.

When To Watch

The Moment hits theaters in 2026, but the trailer already feels like a pop culture event. If the Brat era defined 2024’s internet mood, Charli’s film might just soundtrack 2026.
