The messy, heartfelt, and hilariously relatable world of Adults isn’t over yet. FX has officially renewed the hit comedy for a second season, which will stream exclusively on Hulu.
Created by Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw, the series follows a group of twentysomethings in New York City as they stumble through the trials of modern adulthood, trying to be “good people,” even when they’re neither good nor fully people yet.
Starring Malik Elassal, Lucy Freyer, Jack Innanen, Amita Rao, and Owen Thiele, Adults centers on five friends who’ve ended up crashing together in Samir’s childhood home. There, they share everything, from their deepest insecurities to their meals, anxieties, and sometimes even their toothbrushes.
Produced by comedy powerhouse Nick Kroll, the show has been praised for its sharp writing and unapologetically real portrayal of young adults trying (and failing) to have it all figured out. Whether navigating the healthcare system, surviving awkward dinner parties, or dating in the age of “Find My Friends,” Adults captures the absurdity and tenderness of coming into your own when the world feels like it’s already two steps ahead.
The renewal comes as FX and Hulu continue to expand their lineup of smart, character-driven comedies with heart — and Adults fits perfectly in that space. Its candid humor and millennial angst have struck a chord with fans who see themselves in its chaotic, lovable cast.
While no premiere date for Season 2 has been announced yet, fans can expect more existential crises, awkward hookups, and moments of unexpected sincerity when Adults returns to Hulu.
Because, as Adults reminds us, growing up isn’t just hard, it’s hilariously human.
