It’s been nearly 10 years since Hilary Duff last released an album, but the wait for her comeback is almost over.
The singer and actor confirmed that new music is on the way while attending Vogue World: Hollywood 2025 in Los Angeles. “We’re getting something really soon,” Duff told reporters. “I’ve been hard at work in the studio with my husband, Matthew Koma, and a few other amazing people. Fans are going to hear something in the blink of an eye.”
Duff’s last studio album, Breathe In. Breathe Out., dropped in 2015. Since then, she’s focused on acting, raising her family, and finding the right moment to reenter the music scene.
A Decade of Growth and a Fresh Start
Duff said her return to the studio has been a long time coming. “I always knew I’d come back to music,” she explained. “I needed to feel safe, have the right people in my corner, and actually have something to say. After ten years, I finally do.”
She described the new album as a deep reflection of where she’s at now. “This project feels like the inside of my brain, everything I’ve learned and everything I still want to explore. I can’t wait to connect with people again on that level.”
A New Era with Atlantic Records
In September, Duff announced her signing with Atlantic Records, marking a fresh chapter in her career. Along with the record deal, she revealed plans for a new docuseries chronicling her creative comeback and personal journey.
The yet-untitled series is being directed and executive-produced by Sam Wrench, known for his work on Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour and A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter. The series will offer a behind-the-scenes look at Duff’s creative process, motherhood, and return to music after years away.
Keeping the Details Under Wraps
Though she kept performance details vague, Duff confirmed that everything is “in motion.” “All of the things are happening,” she said with a laugh. “I can’t give away too much or everyone’s gonna kill me, but I am dancing, and it’s exciting.”
When asked about her devoted LGBTQ+ fanbase, Duff didn’t hesitate to show love. “You know it’s all for them,” she said. “It’s just to impress them.”
From Farm Party to Red Carpet
Duff has been making her rounds on the red carpet recently, turning heads at the Academy Museum Gala in a violet Alberta Ferretti gown. “That morning, I was at my daughter’s seventh birthday party on a farm,” she said. “I basically took a bird bath in a hotel room before slipping into that dress. Everyone who helped me get ready were miracle workers.”
With a new label, docuseries, and music on the horizon, Hilary Duff’s long-awaited pop resurgence looks like it’s finally here—and her fans, especially the gay ones, are more than ready to welcome her back.
