Hilary Duff is back again and new music is coming very shortly.

The singer and actor is officially stepping back into the spotlight with “Mature,” her first single in a decade. Duff, 38, announced the news on Instagram, sharing the cover art and writing, “Been keeping this one quiet too long. My new single ‘Mature’ is out Nov. 6.”

A Tease Turned Surprise

Fans first suspected something was brewing when a mysterious countdown appeared on Duff’s official website over the weekend. The former Lizzie McGuire and Younger star later shared the link on her Instagram Stories, fueling speculation that new music was imminent.

Their instincts were right. The single will mark Duff’s first release since her 2015 album Breathe In. Breathe Out., a project many fans still consider underrated.

A New Era With Atlantic Records

In September, Duff revealed that she signed with Atlantic Records, confirming she was back in the studio. Along with the announcement came word of a new docuseries following her “long-awaited musical return and personal journey.”

According to the press release, the series will explore Duff’s balance between motherhood, music, and performing again after ten years away. It’s directed by Sam Wrench, the filmmaker behind Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert film and Sabrina Carpenter’s A Nonsense Christmas.

Motherhood and Music

Duff has been candid about the challenges of juggling family life with her creative ambitions. The How I Met Your Father star shares three daughters with her husband, musician Matthew Koma, and has a son from her previous marriage to Mike Comrie.

A Reconnection With Her Fans

This new chapter seems to be about self-assurance and reconnection. Duff told Variety she wanted to make sure the timing, team, and message all aligned before releasing new material.

“I needed to have ten years of life under my belt,” she said. “I needed to feel safe and ready, and now I finally do. This album feels like the inside of my mind: honest, funny, and raw.”

And, as she playfully added, there’s one group she’s particularly eager to impress: her LGBTQ+ fans.

“You know it’s all for them,” Duff joked. “It’s just to impress them.”

Duff’s “Mature” drops November 6, marking not only a comeback but a celebration of growth, perspective, and maybe just a little bit of glitter.
