Jacob Elordi has officially entered his monster era, and somehow made it hot.
A behind-the-scenes photo of the Euphoria and Saltburn star in full Frankenstein prosthetics has gone viral after The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon aired it this week. The now-infamous image shows Elordi, completely unrecognizable under pale green makeup and stitched scars, cuddling his golden retriever, Layla, between takes.
The internet can’t seem to decide whether to be scared or smitten. “Why does Frankenstein look like he could ruin my life in the best way?” one user wrote on X, while another admitted, “I didn’t expect to want to date a movie monster, but here we are.”
Monstrously Adorable
On the show, Fallon teased Elordi about the uncanny photo, which feels like something straight out of a gothic romance novel. “She was so sick of me at that point,” Elordi joked. “She was like, ‘I’m so tired of this and you look weird.’”
Layla, ever the loyal companion, didn’t seem fazed by her owner’s monstrous makeover. Even with bolts sticking out of his neck, Elordi still managed to look like a man who gives very gentle hugs.
The actor later told British Vogue that Layla isn’t just his sidekick, she’s his muse. “I spend most of my time with my dog,” he said. “She’s a great teacher in so many ways. Just in her innocence, how direct she is… my dog is my hero.”
The Internet’s New Favorite Monster
Between his haunting Frankenstein look and his heartfelt devotion to Layla, Elordi has managed to charm fans in ways few undead creatures ever could. The image may have started as on-set downtime, but it’s since become a full-blown cultural moment, equal parts eerie and endearing.
