Lily Allen transformed a high-fashion dinner into a live music moment Wednesday night in Los Angeles, performing “Tennis” during Chanel’s Coco Crush jewelry celebration at the Chateau Marmont. What began as an intimate industry gathering quickly shifted once Allen took the stage, delivering a performance that blurred the line between runway glamour and pop confession.

The appearance arrives amid renewed attention on Allen’s recent music era, which has put her songwriting front and center again. At the Chanel-hosted dinner, she didn’t just attend, she anchored the night.

A Performance Woven Into the Evening

After greeting guests and posing for photos, Allen moved indoors and performed a short set drawn from West End Girl, her latest album. Among the songs performed, “Tennis” stood out as a highlight, earning audible reactions from diners who paused mid-course to watch.

Actor Daniel Nguyen later shared videos from inside the event showing Allen singing “Tennis,” “Sleepwalking,” “Just Enough,” “Madeline,” and “Pussy Palace.” During the latter, she briefly laughed through a lyric, an unguarded moment that only reinforced the room’s intimacy.

Rather than presenting the performance as a polished concert, Allen leaned into a conversational delivery, moving between songs with ease while the audience remained seated. The setting felt deliberate, more salon than stage.

Fashion With Familiar Signatures

Allen’s look nodded to both Chanel and her own fashion history. She wore a black halterneck gown with a plunging neckline and open back, paired with towering heels. Her hair was styled into a structured beehive, a subtle callback to the retro silhouettes that have long defined her red carpet identity.

She accessorized with a thick gold Coco Crush chain and carried a vintage Chanel patent leather top-handle bag with gold hardware. The styling struck a balance between classic house codes and Allen’s long-standing flair for drama.

Guests, Muses, and the Chanel Circle

Also in attendance was Chanel ambassador Gracie Abrams, who was named a Coco Crush muse last year. Abrams opted for a more restrained look, wearing a black jacket with gold buttons and gray trousers that revealed a sliver of her midriff.

Abrams posed alongside Allen during the evening and later appeared in photos with musician and model Gabbriette, who layered lace over a white long-sleeve top. Derek Blasberg and other fashion insiders were also spotted throughout the dining room as Allen’s vocals filled the space.

Music Meets Meaning

West End Girl traces deeply personal territory for Allen, including the unraveling of her marriage to actor David Harbour. Several songs performed reference that chapter directly, adding emotional weight to an otherwise celebratory event.

By centering the evening around live music rather than spectacle, Chanel allowed Allen’s storytelling to take precedence. For one night at least, Coco Crush wasn’t just about jewelry, it became the backdrop for a pop star reclaiming the spotlight, one lyric at a time.
