Seth Meyers let loose during a particularly unhinged “Day Drinking” segment on Late Night with Seth Meyers, joined by beloved Las Culturistas hosts Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers. The trio’s delightfully chaotic day of cocktails, diva tributes, and glittery fashion choices had queer Twitter (and most of NBC) buzzing by morning.
If you thought Meyers was just the guy in the suit behind the desk, think again.
This latest “Day Drinking” installment, which aired Tuesday night, took an unexpectedly glamorous turn when Meyers stripped down mid-segment to reveal a sparkling white tank top that screamed “Broadway backup dancer meets PTA dad on Pride weekend.” The reveal came after several rounds of increasingly inebriated challenges, and the audience couldn’t get enough.
“The Gay Guy Uniform”
Things kicked off innocently enough, with Yang and Rogers noting their matching vibes: open button-down shirts layered over tank tops.
“That’s that gay guy uniform,” Yang said, without missing a beat.
“This is a gay guy wedding dress,” Rogers added.
Meyers, mock-offended that he’d missed the fashion memo, lamented, “But nobody thought to tell me?”
“If you did an undershirt and a button-down—” Yang started.
“—you’d change lives,” Rogers concluded. “You want a Bugatti? You want a Maserati? You gotta wear a tank under an open shirt, bitch.”
Diva Trivia, Drag Energy
Fueled by vodka sodas and the mutual chemistry of tipsy gays and an extremely game late-night host, the segment quickly spiraled into musical mayhem.
Meyers tested the duo’s pop culture prowess with a diva-themed drinking game. The rules? Meyers would play a single note from a legendary diva’s song, and Yang and Rogers would have to identify the singer. If they nailed it, Meyers drank. If not, bottoms up for the guests.
The result? Diva domination. Yang and Rogers guessed nearly every note correctly, naming Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, and even Cynthia Erivo with frightening ease. Meyers, red-faced and likely buzzed, was forced to keep up.
Their only moment of hesitation came when trying to name Nicole Scherzinger from a single piano note. “She deserves better,” Rogers joked before eventually getting it right.
Seth’s Sparkly Surprise
After a particularly raunchy podcast ad-reading challenge, where Yang cold-read an absolutely NSFW fake sponsorship spot without so much as a laugh, it was time for Meyers to raise the stakes. Or in this case, lower his shirt.
The moment that sent queer fans into a frenzy: Meyers dramatically unbuttoned his shirt to reveal a sparkly, form-fitting white tank top underneath.
The camera panned to Rogers and Yang, who immediately lost their minds.
“Oh my god, you look so good!” Yang yelled.
“Seth! You’re hot!” Rogers screamed, practically climbing over the bar.
Meyers, bashful and glittering under the studio lights, looked to the camera and offered a humble plea: “I do want to let people know, like, don’t judge me against them. I’m a man with a wife and three children.”
But Rogers and Yang weren’t about to let him self-deprecate his way out of a moment.
“No, no, no, no. This is a glow-up,” Rogers declared, motioning to Meyers’ triceps. “You’re serving Daddy Who Brought Tequila to the PTA Meeting.”
Meyers eventually buttoned his shirt halfway back up, leaving the glitter tank fully visible.
“I feel like I’m allowed to do this now, right?” he asked, somewhat sincerely.
“Why am I even more turned on with sleeves?” Yang deadpanned, clearly not over the tank top reveal.
