“RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 19 is coming to MTV. As of Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2026, there’s still no premiere date, and MTV hasn’t named a single new queen. “Season 19 premiere and streaming details have not yet been announced,” Paramount+ wrote on its Sneak Peak blog in August.
MTV renewed the show Aug. 15, TVLine reported. “Nearly 20 years later, what began as a dream has become an extraordinary global movement,” World of Wonder, the show’s production company, said in a statement.
Who’s in the ‘Drag Race’ Season 19 cast?
MTV and World of Wonder have yet to announce the Season 19 contestants or guest judges. MTV’s press directory still lists Season 18 as its latest U.S. cast. For the reveal, watch the show’s official account.
Last year MTV put Season 18’s queens and premiere date in one release. “This season, 14 sickening new queens enter the Werk Room,” it said on Dec. 2, and Gayety’s Season 18 cast guide went up the same day.
MTV also released portraits, hometowns and interviews in its Season 18 “Meet the Queens” broadcast.
RuPaul Charles, host and executive producer
RuPaul has hosted and produced “Drag Race” since 2009. In the Werk Room, Ru talks through the challenges with the queens. On the main stage, Ru decides who stays. RuPaul invited queens to apply in World of Wonder’s Season 19 audition video.
“Calling all queens!” the producers wrote on Oct. 1, 2025. Applicants had until Nov. 14 of that year to send tapes. If you’ve seen a newer audition call, Ru is already casting Season 20.
When will ‘Drag Race’ Season 19 premiere?
TVLine’s Andy Swift is betting on early January 2027, going by six years of the same release schedule. Last time, MTV’s Dec. 2, 2025, press release said the show “returns Friday, January 2nd at 8:00 PM ET/PT with 90-minute episodes.”
| U.S. season | Cast reveal | MTV premiere |
|---|---|---|
| Season 16 | Dec. 6, 2023 | Jan. 5, 2024 |
| Season 17 | Dec. 4, 2024 | Jan. 3, 2025 |
| Season 18 | Dec. 2, 2025 | Jan. 2, 2026 |
Thirty days separated the reveal and the premiere for Seasons 16 and 17. Myki Meeks’ cast had one more day than that. A January 2027 premiere would fit, but MTV hasn’t booked a date publicly.
Has MTV released a Season 19 trailer?
Not yet. “In shady times let there be drag,” RuPaul said in ushering in Season 18, TheWrap reported on Dec. 9, 2025, the day that season’s trailer and guest judges arrived, one week after the cast.
The trailer below is for Season 18. Cardi B guest judged that premiere. MTV hasn’t released a Season 19 trailer or panel photo.
Where can I watch Season 19 and ‘Untucked’?
MTV airs the original series in the U.S. You can stream Myki Meeks’ season now. Paramount+ lists Season 18 episodes, including the premiere. The streamer has yet to set a Season 19 date. Outside the U.S., WOW Presents Plus lists available seasons by country.
MTV also ordered Season 18 of “Untucked,” the backstage show that follows the Season 19 queens. Meanwhile Paramount+ has ordered Season 12 of “All Stars,” plus Season 9 of “All Stars: Untucked.”
Who won Season 18?
Myki Meeks, Season 18 winner
Orlando audiences knew Myki Meeks as a host with a theater background before the crown. In MTV’s cast introduction, Meeks described that background in three words: “recovering theater kid.” Meeks’ official site lists upcoming appearances.
Myki Meeks took the crown April 17, 2026, beating Nini Coco in a final lip sync to “Every Girl You’ve Ever Loved” by Miley Cyrus, who was there to accept the show’s Giving Us Lifetime Achievement Award, TheWrap reported. “This makes a Grammy look cheap,” Cyrus joked. (Gayety broke down the award back in March.)
Coco collected $25,000 as runner-up, and Darlene Mitchell finished third. Meeks told Good Morning America that winning was “a sense of relief, validation.” “It felt like everything I worked for had led up to a moment like that,” Meeks said.
Orlando Weekly counted four challenge wins for Meeks over the season, three of them in a row. “I faced my biggest fear, which was going home without making a mark,” Meeks told the paper.
After the broadcast, Meeks performed SOPHIE’s “Immaterial” for the crowd in New York. Meeks told Orlando Weekly it was the same song that won a first local drag competition six years earlier. “I wanted to win Drag Race and I did it.”
