During her Man’s Best Friend Spotify event in Los Angeles, Sabrina Carpenter revealed the very unusual role she’d like to play in Season 2 of the FX series Adults, starring Owen Thiele. Spoiler alert: it’s not your typical guest star spot.

Sabrina’s Dream Cameo

In a conversation with Thiele, Carpenter didn’t pitch herself as a love interest, rival, or even a background extra. Instead, she went for something far more outrageous.

“I’d love to be the growth on your back,” she told Thiele, leaving him visibly stunned.

“What?” Thiele asked.

“Like if I was just attached to you like a backpack all season and no one spoke about it, wouldn’t that be fun? No one said a word. But I was just there,” Carpenter explained.

“Like a Pimple?”

Thiele tried to wrap his head around the idea, asking: “Like a pimple?”

“Like an extension of you,” Carpenter replied with a smile.

Thiele laughed, immediately leaning into the bit. “I mean, I love that. We’re gonna pitch that.”

Carpenter sealed the moment with: “Let’s do it.”

Could It Actually Happen?

If you missed it, FX’s Adults is the kind of comedy that makes you laugh because it’s way too real. The series follows five messy twenty-somethings — Samir (Malik Elassal), Billie (Lucy Freyer), Paul (Jack Innanen), Issa (Amita Rao), and Anton (Owen Thiele) — as they try (and fail) to figure out adulthood while sharing meals, heartbreaks, and occasionally toothbrushes in a New York crash pad.

Think: job hunts, awkward hookups, healthcare nightmares, and wildly bad theories on what being a “grown-up” actually means. At its core, though, the show is about friendship — showing up for each other, even when everything else is a disaster.

With creators Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw behind the scripts, plus heavy-hitting producers like Nick Kroll and Jonathan Krisel, Adults balances heart and chaos in all the best ways.

As of now, Adults has not been renewed for a second season. But you can stream all of Season 1 on Hulu.
