Heated Rivalry breakout star Connor Storrie is reportedly in talks to join Gracie Abrams and Tom Burke in Please, an upcoming A24 film from filmmaker Halina Reijn.
Reijn, who previously delivered the comedy thriller Bodies Bodies Bodies and the Nicole Kidman psychological drama Babygirl, will write, direct, and produce the new project. According to Deadline, story details for Please are still being kept under wraps, and Storrie’s potential role has not yet been revealed.
While nothing has been officially confirmed, the news marks another exciting career move for Storrie, who has quickly become one of the most talked-about rising actors following the success of HBO and Crave’s Heated Rivalry. The queer hockey romance series, based on Game Changers author Rachel Reid’s beloved novels, turned Storrie and co-star Hudson Williams into fan favorites almost overnight. The series has already been renewed for a second season.
Make Room For a New Co-Star
His new potential co-star, singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams, has spent the last few years steadily evolving from an indie-pop favorite to a full-blown pop mainstay. With emotionally raw songwriting and a growing list of chart-topping hits, Abrams has built a deeply loyal fanbase through projects like Good Riddance and The Secret of Us. We’re excited to see her dip her toes into acting, especially with filmmaker J. J. Abrams as her father.
Connor’s Upcoming Projects
Storrie’s schedule is also continuing to fill up outside of the hockey world, including SNL hosting, Met Gala appearances, and cover shoots. But we are excited to see him acting on our screens again soon. The actor is reportedly attached to the upcoming thriller Turpentine opposite Melissa McCarthy, directed by Craig Zobel, and recently boarded the A24-backed comedy Peaked from Molly Gordon and Allie Levitan.
He is also reportedly in talks to guest star on Season 19 of Criminal Minds: Evolution, in addition to starring in the upcoming sci-fi thriller April X, which is set to hit theaters this September.
