Hudson Williams is headed back to Crave, and this time, he’s doubling down.
The Heated Rivalry breakout will play two roles in the streamer’s upcoming mystery thriller Yaga. Crave confirmed the surprise Thursday with a new look at Williams as Henry and Logan, two characters who appear to be at the center of the show’s increasingly strange mystery.
“Seeing double? You should be,” the streamer wrote on social media. “Hudson Williams takes on TWO roles in #YAGA. Meet Henry and Logan.”
The reveal answers one question about Williams’ involvement in the series while immediately creating several more. Here is what we know about both characters so far.
Meet Henry and Logan
Henry Park is the missing heir to a powerful coastal fishery empire. His disappearance brings private investigator Rapp, played by Noah Reid (Schitt’s Creek), to a small seaside town where almost everyone seems to be hiding something.
Henry has been part of the show’s premise since Williams was first announced as a cast member. Logan, however, is new information.
That secrecy makes the double casting especially interesting. Logan could be Henry’s relative, his double, or something tied to the ancient magic surrounding the case. For now, Crave is only confirming that Williams will play both characters. Anything more would be speculation, and Yaga appears very happy to keep viewers guessing.
We do know what the two characters look like, thanks to the Polaroid-style photo Crave shared. Henry appears to be the more outgoing of the two, wearing a colorful striped sweater and flashing a confident smile for the camera. Logan presents a quieter image, with his hands tucked into the pockets of a jean jacket and glasses completing the look. Hudson Williams in glasses? Count us in.
Hudson Williams Was First Announced in ‘Yaga’ Earlier This Year
Williams was first announced as part of Yaga earlier this year, when Crave revealed he would star opposite Carrie-Anne Moss, Noah Reid and Clark Backo. At the time, the streamer only identified his character as Henry Park. The new announcement confirms his role in the series is much larger and more complicated than it initially appeared.
The project brings Williams back to the Canadian platform that helped introduce him to an international audience through Heated Rivalry. It also gives him a very different kind of leading role.
Yaga also marks a first for Crave as the platform’s first original half-hour drama. Front Street Pictures and Blink49 Studios produce the series, with David Frazee and Rachel Talalay directing. Mackenzie Donaldson, Andrew Miller and Moss serve as executive producers, while Kat Sandler writes and serves as showrunner.
What Is ‘Yaga’ About?
Based on Sandler’s stage play, Yaga reimagines the Baba Yaga legend, a feared figure from Slavic folklore who is often depicted as a witch living deep in the forest, inside a present-day coastal community.
The story follows Rapp as he investigates Henry’s disappearance and quickly discovers this is not a straightforward missing-person case. His search puts him at odds with Carson, a cautious local detective played by Clark Backo. Carrie-Ann Moss plays Katherine, a charismatic university professor with a taste for younger men who becomes another important figure in the investigation.
Sandler’s version is not interested in presenting Baba Yaga as a simple villain. Instead, the creator has described the character as an “incendiary feminist antihero” reimagined for the present day. She has also called the series dark, funny, accessible, and unapologetically bold.
The ensemble includes Sheila McCarthy, Megan Follows, Ezra Franky, Patrick Gilmore, Katharine Isabelle, Hiro Kanagawa, Emilija Baranac, Georgia Acken, Anisa Harris and Sam Krochmal.
The half-hour series premieres in October on Crave in Canada and will stream on AMC+ in the United States.
From ‘Heated Rivalry’ Breakout to Season 2
Williams broke out as Shane Hollander in Crave’s queer hockey romance Heated Rivalry. The series follows Shane, a reserved Canadian hockey star, and Ilya Rozanov, his charismatic Russian rival played by Connor Storrie, as their secret relationship develops over several years.
Williams and Storrie are returning for Heated Rivalry Season 2, which is currently in production and expected to premiere in April 2027.
The new season will continue Shane and Ilya’s story, drawing from Rachel Reid’s novels The Long Game and Role Model. It will also expand the show’s hockey universe with several new characters and relationships. Justice Smith, Charlie Gillespie, Emily Hampshire, Edvin Ryding, Priyanka, Robert Naylor, Sabrina Jalees and Daniel Diemer are among the actors joining the series.
François Arnaud and Robbie G.K. are also expected to return as Scott Hunter and Kip Grady, whose relationship was introduced during the first season.
