Quentin Dupieux is once again blending his surreal humor with big-name talent in Full Phil, a Paris-set satire led by Woody Harrelson and Kristen Stewart.
According to Variety, the English-language comedy will follow Philip Doom (Harrelson), a “wealthy industrialist” as he attempts to reconnect with his daughter Madeleine (Stewart) during a luxurious trip to Paris. However, the universe has other plans as their getaway is derailed by “French cuisine, a 1950s horror film and an intrusive hotel employee.”
Full Phil will be directed by French filmmaker Quentin Dupieux (The Second Act), who has built a cult following for his absurdist humor and fearless approach to storytelling. The project is being produced by longtime collaborator Hugo Selignac, marking their eighth film together in just six years. Alongside Stewart and Harrelson, the ensemble cast includes Emma Mackey (Sex Education, Barbie) and Charlotte Le Bon (The Walk, Fresh), with comedic favorites Tim Heidecker and Nassim Lyes also appearing.
Backed by Chi-Fou-Mi Productions, part of Mediawan, Full Phil has strong industry muscle behind it. Studiocanal will oversee international sales, while Diaphana handles French distribution and Canal+ has already pre-bought the film.
Kristen Stewart continues to expand her range with recent turns in Love Lies Bleeding and the sci-fi romance Love Me, alongside her anticipated directorial debut The Chronology of Water.
Woody Harrelson, meanwhile, remains a Hollywood mainstay, set to reprise his role as Merritt McKinney in the upcoming third installment of the hit Now You See Me franchise. Together, they bring both indie edge and blockbuster pedigree to Dupieux’s latest project, promising a dynamic pairing that will intrigue audiences across genres.
Not much else is known about the upcoming comedy, but we’re anticipating chaos and cinematic mayhem in the best possible way. One thing’s for certain, if Kristen is attached, I’ll be there.
