Get ready for the wildest party ever thrown!
The trailer for Tina Romero’s latest horror comedy Queens of the Dead dropped and so did our jaws. A zombie outbreak told through the eyes of a Brooklyn warehouse party full of drag queens? Count us in.
Romero, daughter of the late George A. Romero, the mastermind behind Night of the Living Dead, is bringing together a killer cast of LGBTQIA+ icons. Picture this: Jaquel Spivey (Mean Girls), Katy O’Brian (Love Lies Bleeding), Margaret Cho (Fire Island), Jack Haven (I Saw The TV Glow) and Cheyenne Jackson (American Horror Story) all sharing the screen.
Nina West (Rupaul’s Drag Race), Tomas Matos (Fire Island), Quincy Dunn-Baker (No Hard Feelings), Becca Blackwell (Bros), Shaunette Renée Wilson (Black Panther), Dominique Jackson (Pose), Riki Lindhome (Knives Out), and Eve Lindley (Bros) will also star.
The trailer kicks off with O’Brien leading the charge on this party but before the fun can really begin, an undead visitor appears and suddenly the glitter is mixed with gore. They’re taking “eating” and “killing it” to a whole new level.
“It’s life or death.”
“It’s both. It’s always both.”
Co-written by Romero and comedian Erin Judge, the film blends sharp satire with outrageous comedy. And if the trailer is any indication, Queens of the Dead is set to deliver both jump scares and campy one-liners in equal measure.
So grab your heels, sharpen your contour, and prepare to sashay into the apocalypse—the undead don’t stand a chance.
