Elliot Page is teaming up with Academy Award-winning director Christopher Nolan once again, and he’s selfishly really excited about it.

The Umbrella Academy star, who publicly came out as trans in 2020, reflected on the experience during a New York Comic-Con panel over the weekend.

“I loved working with him on Inception,” Page recalled of Nolan. “I was so excited to be thought of for [The Odyssey] and to be asked to come back to work with him.”

Now, 15 years later, Page says the reunion holds new meaning. “I was just completely jazzed and excited,” he said. “I met with Chris, talked about the part, sat in a room, and read the script — it was such a joy to come back.

“To come back now, as you can imagine, being more comfortable in yourself makes these sorts of projects more enjoyable.”

Though Elliot Page’s role in The Odyssey, Nolan’s upcoming reimagining of Homer’s epic, is still under wraps, one thing’s certain: this project is going to be nothing short of epic. “To get to have a Chris Nolan experience again now meant so much to me selfishly.” It’s okay to be selfish, Page! We are here for it.

Watching Elliot Page’s evolution as an actor has been nothing short of inspiring. From his Umbrella Academy character’s heartfelt coming-out moment that mirrored his own transition to his first shirtless scene since undergoing top surgery, Page continues to reclaim his narrative and embody authenticity on screen.

“Showing this dude who’s comfortable and present and waking up in his body, that means a lot to me,” Page said of his character Sam in Dominic Savage’s independent drama Close To You. “I never thought I’d feel that way, so it’s nice to get to act it.”

While we do have a while to wait, The Odyssey does not hit theaters until next summer, we can’t wait to see what Page has in store for us. So far, we know the film follows Damon as Odysseus on his wild journey home from the Trojan War, with a stacked cast that includes Zendaya, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, and Robert Pattinson.
