Charli XCX and George Daniel weren’t done celebrating their love after tying the knot in London this summer. Two months later, the newlyweds gathered their closest friends in Sicily for a second round of vows, this time with a little more spectacle.
A Weekend of Music and Mischief
The pop star and The 1975 drummer hosted a reception that looked more like a festival lineup than a wedding party. Daniel’s bandmates were front and center, including frontman Matty Healy, who arrived with his fiancée, model Gabbriette Bechtel. Charli’s circle was also out in full force, with Troye Sivan, Benito Skinner, Jeremy O. Harris, Yung Lean, Aidan Zamiri, and longtime collaborator A.G. Cook all making appearances.
Charli documented the festivities in a carousel of Instagram photos captioned, “i love my friendsssssssssss pt 1.” From the looks of it, part two may be just as wild.
An Italian Twist
The couple leaned into their edgy aesthetic with unexpected wedding details. Instead of pastel confetti or chocolate fountains, guests found a cigarette platter stacked with custom matchboxes printed with Charli and George’s names. The touch was unconventional, but for two musicians known for rewriting pop’s rulebook, it fit perfectly.
From Vows to Vocals
The night didn’t stay quiet for long. At one point, Matty Healy was lifted above the crowd in a full crowdsurf while Yung Lean, Charli, and Gabbriette jumped on stage for an impromptu performance. It wasn’t a typical wedding band, but the packed dance floor didn’t seem to mind.
Love, Round Two
The Sicilian celebration followed a more intimate ceremony in London in July, where the couple exchanged vows with only family and a few close friends in attendance. The second wedding gave them the chance to bring their wider creative circle together in a setting as bold as their careers.
